Reliably told that the Big Medical Lobby has resorted to outright threatening state lawmakers with electoral reprisals if they vote to repeal CON. As always, @AFPWV & our army of grassroots activists stand ready to help reelect principled policy champions.
The fact is, Certificate of Need laws hurt EVERY West Virginia family. It is time to fully repeal CON laws so that Mountaineers can have better access to more quality health care. See @AFPWV's Key Vote Alert to state lawmakers here: https://t.co/u40RGam2tX
BIG thanks to everyone who stopped by our new office! It was an honor to recognize Senator Patricia Rucker as our 2025 Freedom Award recipient. You can count on the 2025 Legislative Session bringing more freedom and opportunity to the Mountain State!
We already have activists writing to lawmakers telling them to support proven policies that expand freedom and opportunity for ALL West Virginians. Let us know if you want your voice to be heard!
THANK YOU, AFP-WV Grassroots Engagement Director Ambrose Rucker for sharing your story with Governor Patrick Morrisey regarding why Certificate of Need laws must be REPEALED! A real-life example of why we need more health care in the Mountain State!
REMOVING Regulations! Governor @MorriseyWV says he is committed to removing barriers that prevent West Virginians from realizing their version of the American Dream. It is time to get government out of the way!
TODAY is the first day of the 2025 Legislative Session. We look forward to working with lawmakers to:
🚑 REPEAL Certificate of Need
🍎 Expand the Hope Scholarship
🇺🇸 Enact the REINS Act
💰 Support Governor Morrisey's Economic Agenda
Senator @RuckerforWV has distinguished herself as one of the foremost leaders of the educational freedom movement in America. Her bold work helped sparked a seismic policy shift that swept across the nation ensuring more kids than ever before have the right education for them.
The common argument against Certificate of Need repeal is that it will hurt rural hospitals because of the "cherry-picking of services". Delegate @EvanWorrell4WV says in rural states, like Montana, we have seen the opposite with rural health care services expanding!
The goal is simple - expand freedom and opportunity for ALL West Virginians. With a conservative governor and a super majority in both legislative bodies, there’s no excuse for accepting the status quo anymore.
The evidence is clear: CON is a failed experiment that hurts every West Virginian. ZERO evidence to the contrary! That’s why fully repealing CON laws is @AFPWV's top priority this session. Thanks again to @TJMeadows304 & @DaveWilsonMN for having me on @WVMetroNews Talkline.
The West Virginia Hospital Association, year after year, attempts to defend our state’s Certificate of Need (CON) laws with misleading claims that serve monopolistic interests rather than the public good and health of West Virginia citizens. The reality is that CON stifles competition, reduces access to care, and artificially inflates costs, all while protecting entrenched hospital monopolies from meaningful market demands. #endCON 🧵
Happy to join @Talkradiowrnr to discuss our Pathway to Prosperity Legislative Agenda. We need to think boldly about the policies we pass and I know with Governor @MorriseyWV's leadership we will do just that. Stay tuned 🔊
The 2025 Pathway to Prosperity Legislative Agenda!
🏦 Pass the REINS Act to reel in unelected bureaucrats
🚑 Make health care more affordable with the repeal of ALL CON Laws
🍎 Expansion of the Hope Scholarship
🗽 Support Governor Morrisey''s Economic Agenda
With Governor Morrisey’s leadership and super majorities in both legislative bodies, there is no reason to not get this done. The time for the gold-standard of government in WV is now.
