@oldscarf1stweek I agree with that to an extent. Anyone can get as close as they want, it’s their life. I just personally don’t want to see we lost another chaser. You can be an amazing chaser but tornadoes can be unpredictable & chasers keep getting closer and closer.
Chase Mode Activated! A line of storms with potential renegade supercells ahead of it should form across OH/PA this afternoon. A few quick tornadoes (possibly up to EF2) are possible #ohwx
I just reposted a video of what you are NOT supposed to do! Underpasses are very unsafe during tornadoes, not only is the wind stronger under them, you are backing up traffic in a serious situation.
Here's a clip from a Broken Arrow, #Oklahoma Live Traffic Cam just now where drivers have stopped under an overpass during the #Tornado Warned Storm just now. #okwx
June will start out VERY active with multiple shots of severe weather! This will all begin on Monday, and should continue until at least the middle of June...
Buckle up, an active weather pattern is coming!
Haven't shared it in awhile but here's the upcoming event. Still welcoming Chasers, Meteorologists and Weather Groups. We will have Trophies for the chasers such as Furthest Traveled, Best Chase Vehicle, Best Table Display and Most Equipment (voted on by the Public.) We'll also have Food for Sale, A Dunk Tank, Chinese Raffle, DJ and so much more.
We really hope to see everyone there. July 12th from Noon-6pm in Tarrs PA. @PAStormTrackerz
Here is an approximate timeline graphic to understand the potential timing and west to east progression of storms today. Note that a few thunderstorms could occur this morning, but the severe threat is tied to storm development/strengthening during these windows.
A threat of thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon and evening. Some storms will be severe. The main threat will be damaging winds and hail. An isolated tornado can't be ruled out. The general timing of onset will be between 2pm and 5pm and could last till 7pm to 9pm.
Severe weather continues tomorrow across the Ohio Valley and Deep South, where more damaging winds, large hail, and a couple of tornadoes are possible.
This active stretch of weather just won't stop!
