@GOLDBABYO I tell my staff no one is happy to be in our office so we shouldn’t expect them to be at their best. With that said there is only so much that should be tolerated.
@DrNeilStone@doritmi Spent the weekend with my 4 month old grandson. Fully vaccinated to this point. Smiling. Laughing. Rolling over. Age appropriate development and then some. And not sick!!!
@SamaHoole ASCVD risk calculator. There are multiple available ones online. I Provide that info for all of my patients more often to show them why statins won’t benefit enough to use them. But can give you some actual data based on years of longitudinal study and observation.
Trump knows his actions have zero repercussions. He also can’t stand anyone else getting attention. The Olympics should be the story of the day yet what is everyone taking about.. His crap posting overnight. He is as predictable as he is disgusting.
@HeyEpic EHRs are sophisticated billing tools all created for profits and denying care. And my day is 50% longer at least just to check all of the unnecessary boxes. And yes I do use Epic. Data is poorly accessible at best.
@HeyEpic If EHRs were about patient care and shared information there wouldn’t be endless options most too expensive for the average practitioner to afford. There would be one system accessible by each physician who cares for a patient.
@CoffeeBlackMD Thanks for the answer. I do primary care as an employed physician. Can’t quite figure out how to keep the computer out of the exam room.
@NeleHelena While I don’t disagree with the sentiment regarding our failing health system, because of the huge shortage of psychiatrists, primary care doctors care for a large portion of mental health issues. If you are being treated inappropriately maybe it’s not the specialty but the Dr.
@birdy_bird1@drdrew The answer is false. I get a cup
Of coffee occasionally. Same is true for vaccinations. No doctor gets rich from vaccines. Honestly we barely break even.
I’ve been saying this for years. I don’t need the pen. I just want them to hold themselves to the same standard they hold me to. My prescribing habits affects hundreds maybe. Their voting habits affect everyone!!
Please explain to me why as a practicing physician, I cannot accept so much as a pen from a pharmaceutical COMPANY out of concern that it might adulterate or influence my decision-making, and yet politicians can take millions in campaign contributions from the same COMPANIES and we are to have no concern about adulterating influence of those contributions??
Most students used to think they wanted to be “real” doctors
But by the time third year rolls around and they start witnessing how much their attendings hate their lives, things change
They see how overworked and underappreciated they are. They see stupid ass administrators who have absolutely no business in healthcare acting like they are the white knights “you just do the medicine, I’ll run the business”
They see how RVUs and FFS medicine force doctors to grind volume instead of compassionately care for their fellow human beings
They see professional societies and major institutions impose draconian and non-evidence based policies across the board, and how those who dare speak out and think for themselves are immediately ostracized
They see tech bros and bro bros thinking they’re going to come in and revolutionize an industry with zero knowledge of how it actually works
They see marriages failed, children’s basketball games missed, other dreams put on pause indefinitely, all while going into half a million $ of debt
They see society shit on doctors for being lemmings and accused of putting profits over patients
And they think… fuckkkk that
Now the cool thing is to get the MD and then *act* like a doctor so they can go be part of a startup or work for McKinsey
And it’s hard to blame them.
It’s not about indexing on the right people to start. By and large, medical school attracts deeply passionate and intelligent people who care about humanity.
It’s about fixing the absolute shit show of a system that we are then subject to for the next 40 years of a career. We need to fix THAT, and then, the good ones will stay, and commit to patient care for the rest of their lives.
@RobertKennedyJr@MartyMakary@DrJBhattacharya@DrOz
@masterlongevity@AnnaRMatson His purposely deceitful vaccine stance. Two children died because of a nursing error. RFK was aware of the true cause. His rhetoric then led to 81 more deaths from measles. But he’s not anti vax.
