@AaronBastani Spot on @AaronBastani. Even before the 15 years of austerity+ Brexit kicked in, while going around Vauxhall and Battersea, we used to joke UK’s biggest export industry is selling overpriced flats to mostly Far Eastern investors, while we run a big trade deficit with them.

@AaronBastani My parents after a decade away from the UK came back in 1989, my dad on a single salary and three children could afford to buy a nice semi in Cambridge. I could afford to buy my first flat in 1994 with a very modest academic salary. Seems like an entirely different country now.
