Three of my happiest friends are librarians. One is a librarian at a medical school, the second is a talented musician, and the third is the epic @klg19 who started the comics collection at Columbia University. Librarians are the unsung heroes of a civilization and you’re very much needed. Thank you for your service. I don’t live in New York anymore and I can’t bring myself to throw away my New York library card.

“I would rather be fired for supporting the First Amendment than sued for violating it,” librarian Patty Hector said in August. In October, she was fired. @ALALibrary https://t.co/Ffr7nQ5hFd
