Sign a waiver if you are in the business of building bridges or Alaskan salmon fishing. Waiver for teacher? No. #TeacherSafetyIsEssential @safeschools1st #14DaysNoNewCases
My heart breaks for this young girl's family. You can prevent this from happening in Oregon by keeping schools online until it's safe for everyone. @safeschools1st #14DaysNoNewCases@OregonGovBrown@ORDeptEd
Thanks Dr. Lee Beers @CNNOpinion. If we focus on the children, let's be mindful that they know COVID is potentially fatal. Sending them back to school before a solid decline in cases is not focusing on the children. @safeschools1st
"Children should not be a political bargaining chip, nor should they be an afterthought. Let us aim for a return to school guided by science โ and focused on children," writes Dr. Lee Beers for @CNNOpinion https://t.co/84k14YHCu7
Iโll say it again: the decision to re-open schools should be up to health care experts, parents, educators and staff. And itโs absurd to demand a return to the classroom without prioritizing safety first.
Everyone keeps saying "what about the kids?" Ok. Let's go there. Kids know the effects of COVID are potentially life threatening. Sending them to school says you are willing to risk their lives. Good job anticipating that psychological impact! @OregonGovBrown @safeschools1st
Mandated face coverings for 5 and up. What happens if people don't comply? It's not a trick question. People will get sick and people will die. Online only until it's safe for everyone. @OregonGovBrown@ORDeptEd @safeschools1st
Iโm a teacher. Our school board met via Zoom to tell us that we are going back to face to face learning. Let that sink in. The virus is too dangerous for them to meet face to face but we need to return to face to face learning with super spreaders. I have 30 years in. Retirement!
