I would trust the people [teachers] who refuse to even consider carrying a gun or putting a gun near children a lot more than the people who are suggesting that we put guns in the hands of teachers and add armed guards to schools.

Students are more than test scores. Teachers are people. We cannot continue to place the burden of responsibility on our schools to solve society’s problems. We need to give them the supports they so desperately need. Now more than ever. They deserve better. We all do.
