@theandywebb You must have missed mid-May Twitter when Cub "fans" wanted Happ benched and Alcantara called up to start in LF because of all those HRs he hit at Iowa. Now the same peeps want him traded.
@dwest___ Rollison has been effective. Thielbar was solid before injury and a savior last year. 3 weeks ago, Cub fans wanted Webb DFA. How about giving credit for not retaining Pomeranz (5.31 ERA for Anaheim)? Or Brad Keller (34 Hits/walks in 27 IP for Philly).
@PendleyWx Bo Bichette has same number of HRs, roughly the same # of strike outs and similar batting average. If Jed had signed NEITHER, Cub fans would have lost their minds. It's on the players, not the GMs. Do you think Mets/Red Sox/Astros fans are any HAPPIER than Cub fans?
@GRitz93@MJMcElwee Amaya is a .220 hitter. Kelly's around .280. Gimme a break. It was a very bad at-bat, but he's a solid catcher and has been amazing with challenges. We got spoiled last year when he had a career year.
@terrazas_junior a quick check of Cubs transaction for May would have shown you that they sent Assad down so they could add a LH in the bullpen (Thielbar was on IL) and so they could get him starts. MGRs aren't alone in making roster decisions.
@PrazMaster Busch was late challenging TWO pitches. The ump allowed the first but not the 2nd, and as JD pointed out, it would have been a strike and a lost challenge.
@thekapman He tries to hit to the opposite field (what power hitters do when in a slump), doesn't succeed, and is crucified for hitting to right field.
@angarciatv as did most Cub fans. If Jed hadn't signed him, fans would be upset that they weren't trying to win. Now fans want Jed fired because he signed Bregman. Also apparently its Jed's fault that the best pitchers are hurt.
@Brett_A_Taylor Trea Turner (32) was in a slump last year. Phillies fans gave him a standing O before at bats and he rebounded in 2nd half. I wish Cub fans wanted to build up players like Alex and Dansby instead of trash them online. Ditto for Jed - he didn't cause the pitching injuries.
@CubsGuy37@SamOlbur P who gave up the most HR the last two seasons remain with their teams (Washington, Boston). Be frustrated but don't make crazy comments like that after a 6 inning 2 run outing. The A's ROY homered twice off Yankees last weekend. He's really good
