We have broken ground on 72 Perth! 255 rental units coming in phase 6 of 9 of Castlepoint Numa’s Lower Junction masterplan.
Very proud of the whole team for their efforts in getting here! Excited to announce new partnerships with the City of Toronto, Hazelview and WoodGreen.
Every detail of this building has been carefully considered. We made a deliberate decision to focus on larger, more livable homes, removing studio units entirely and paying close attention to kitchens, bathrooms, storage, suite layouts, and the day-to-day experience of residents.
For the interiors, we challenged our designers to take a strong point of view — moving away from a more minimal rental aesthetic and toward something warmer, richer, and more textured
The result is a project we believe will stand out in Toronto.
@donnelly_b …goes off the rails when it’s substituting for garage/self storage… in our markets, in-suite laundry means we’re probably not getting the idyllic clothesline swaying in the wind
Consistently, one of my first pieces of feedback I give to seed founders after we invest
Is that they are under-budgeting/prioritizing the quality of their office
You need to be building a cult and a culture; that's hard to do under fluorescent lights without some sunshine
Housing is an over regulated industry, development charges are up 1000% over the last 15 years.

Are you wondering why housing is so damn expensive? Thank your government for that. We decided what better way to highlight the absurdity than to create a board game.
If you think 30% taxes on homes is wrong, visit https://t.co/1KkIohqvPl and tell policymakers how you feel.
Amazing plan circa 1912 for the Toronto Islands and Port Lands. Showing a fixed park connecting to and across the islands. Designed by Olmsted (Central Park) #TOtheWaterfront
New housing should be priced to customers net of taxes and other government fees. Meaning, purchasers should have full transparency in terms of where their money is going. The challenge…
A generation ago, none of these taxes existed: no GST, no Land Transfer Tax, no Development Charges. The cost of owning a home has soared, and governments at all three levels have been a BIG part of that.
Think of this from an intergenerational perspective. Young people today cannot afford homes. This is impacting major life decisions, including starting a family.
There is lots for governments to fix to get more people into homes. The tax grab is a good place to start.
Two public plazas in the middle of our downtown that have seating and tables. Two blocks apart.
One is always full, and one is usually completely empty during the day.
Can you spot the reason?
@itsahousingtrap@beheshtialex Unfortunately many still believe that supply and demand does not apply to housing. To reduce the cost of housing, need to increase supply. If the obligation of affordable housing is intensified, substantial offsets on other costs are critical
