I have mentioned before that Harry will refuse to allow Charles to lie about him to make him look bad.

Case in point. Charles lied saying that Harry accepted too late. Harry came with a banger of a statement stating the facts.

This is what the palace hates. They want to lie about Harry in peace, and force Harry to lay down and take it like he used to back in the day.

Today I will be presented with an honorary doctorate from Lancashire university. I was born in Lancashire. The government of Lancashire was my parent for my first eighteen years.

For those of you who left the care system like me, those in your twenties thirties forties fifties or sixties....

For some of us our childhood has stalked and bullied our adult life. It was so violent and reactionary we feared mentioning it in case it was triggered into waking. It is a light sleeper. This is how secrets form and shame.

I face it, I claim it and I calm it. It just wanted to be seen and to talk. This is a practise of love and no amount of positive cut and paste affirmations can do the job.

I am not defined by the worst events of my life but I am not afraid to befriend and becalm the boy bewildered within them. I am a man and he needed me.

This is how I found the words "I am not defined by my scars but by the incredible ability to heal." This act of healing is self love.

No amount of formal education can teach me to look after myself (to love) and others (to give love) at this unspoken and primal level.

This I know.

Be kind to your fellow care leavers whatever age they are. Our greatest strength is not to have survived. That is a cruel epithet. No! Our greatest strength is to love and be loved and this is what connects us to the world.
