Congratulations to our Liger team for their second place prize at the 2020 BMC Cambodia Startup Accelerator & Competition! Our entrepreneurial students presented a digital electrical consultancy business. 💡

I have to say that talking with Jeff Holte from @ligeracademy has been totally enlightening! Our discussion: how do we serve communities at home and abroad with excellent educational opportunities that don't promote our own cultures, but allow them to make change in their own?
Things I’ve been inspired by at the @GSApartnership meetup: 1) Open learning space at @FreemansbayScho & @StonefieldsSch. 2) Epic #PBL projects @ligeracademy (books read by millions!) 3)Community services provided by @hilltoproadps (swim lessons, job training, etc for parents)
A lot of the @GSApartnership schools focus on the UN sustainable development goals for the #PBL units. These are really compelling goals that could motivate authentic learning. https://t.co/2YMuDRgxD3
Great turnout tonight Auckland for our spontaneous @GSApartnership micro pop-up conference. Thanks to each and every one of you for joining us! 🙏🏻 Wish we’d had even more time to talk and dive deeper together. #edchat#willbeback#autens
This pushed my #PBL thinking so much further! @ligeracademy talking about the 400 page textbook his 60+ middle school students wrote, photographed, laid out, collected data for, published, then raised $10K to distribute across Cambodia. As @see_natalie says, “that’s next level”
Cambodia hasn't put an object into space...until now! 5 of our students hope to launch their nanosatellite LigerSAT, and inspire a generation of Cambodian students about space.
Pledge to their Kickstarter now! https://t.co/6DIpjLjWmM

Congratulations to our students who recently won first place in the "STEAM Action" category of a project proposal competition at the first Ocean Park International STEAM Conference in Hong Kong!
Our five students - members of the Liger Marine Research Team - also took part in the conference, listened to presentations and networked with other marine researchers. #marineresearch
While Liger is an English immersion school, we value the importance of our students maintaining their Khmer culture and identity and this includes instruction on the Khmer language (Cambodia’s national language). 🇰🇭 #languageimmersion
Liger recently hosted educators from fellow Global Schools Alliance member @vegaschools in India to sit in on classes, observe projects, meet with education staff, and share stories on life at Vega and in India.
It’s vital that our students graduate with the skills necessary for further study or entering work. In preparation for graduation in 2020, our seniors' schedule now closely resembles university with approx. 22 hours of study per week that they allocate toward multiple projects.
In 2018, Liger received permission to become the first high school in the history of the competition and placed 3rd out of 111 teams. In 2019, Liger won 1st place and a prize of $5,000 to develop its business and compete in the Asia-regional competition - the Mekong Challenge.
After 18 months of hard work, our junior students have completed their 420 page book “The Geography of Cambodia”! An initial run of 1,100 books will be printed thanks to the generous support of the Susan McKinnon Foundation.
These copies will be available in bookstores alongside previous Liger-published books The Cambodian Economy and The Illustrated Guide to Wildlife of Cambodia. #youngwriters
Liger Leadership Academy are proud to be members of the Global Schools Alliance (GSA) alongside other internationally-recognised schools such as @GreenSchoolBali in Bali and @hightechhigh in the United States. We were thrilled to host the most recent annual meeting of the GSA.
