@hookskat@writeontheedg3 If that adult was in Hell, it was because as an adult, they preferred it. How many people remain bitter even though bitterness shortens their lives? They would rather suffer than forgive. Same energy.
@hookskat@writeontheedg3 Here’s the point: Each of us must answer the single most personal question given to us; to whom do we give fealty as Lord? No one else is responsible. In the mean time, for those of us who choose the Creator, we must follow His image, Jesus, and through Him save lives.
@TheMuppetPastor@McJuggerNuggets We easily accept lies when we are self centered. I thank God that he has shown that it is better to deny self, pick up our cross, and follow Him. Only then will we become what God intended for humankind. May this family someday walk in the way of the Lord of creation.
@zeroruck@writeontheedg3@adelethelaptop Jesus went beyond the law to judge the intent of the heart like many of the prophets did (Isaiah 58). It’s the same today. Are people serving God to benefit themselves or are they totally committed to serving God by serving others?
@TheMuppetPastor@avine26 Aquinas believed in experientialism. Read what happened one Mass a few months before his death. He considered his life’s work were straw after seeing Jesus in a vision.
@PracticalTheolo 1st c. thinking—
1 Cor 12:4-6 Spirit, Lord, and God, coequal in giving grace.
Phil 2:5-11 Though equal with God submits to being a servant unto death.
Hebrews: 1:3 The perfect imprint of God’s nature.
John 5:17-18– Calling oneself the Son of God is being equal with God.
@Pastor_Gabe If a person thinks “godliness” is only moral behavior, they are in error and do not understand the power of the Holy Spirit to bring an inner state in the believer of reverence and respect toward God.
@DustinAshWrites He got his flesh from Adam through a sequence of generations preserved in God’s holiness. Mary in herself had no Y chromosome. Where did that come from?
@BeardedPresby@Be_Like_JChrist “Be not conformed to the world, but be transformed (metamorphosis) by the renewing of your mind.”—this in a letter earlier stating we are predestined to be conformed into the image of God’s son. This process is an inner work of the Holy Spirit (Rom 8) whom you denigrate, Boomer.
@birdchadlouis Like Isaiah, one must be willing to hear with the intent of obedience. That takes an intimate relationship with a willingness to do all things for God’s glory. No sanitized half measures.
@Be_Like_JChrist Depends on perspective. “Be transformed by the renewing of your mind. “Renewing” in the Greek, ἀνακαινώσει, implies process. Eternally transformed. Transforming in process. A live butterfly is a result of a dead caterpillar transforming in a pupae (Exodus for the creepy crawly)
@troywojick Many people do not understand eternal vs. temporal, transcendence vs. imminence, now and not yet. True belief is eternal life temporally worked out in process. “What you bind on earth has already been bound in heaven and what you loose on earth has already been loosed in heaven.”
