In our families and other personal relationships, let us avoid what is harsh and hateful. Let us seek to be holy, like our Savior.

Once people get off social media, it becomes pretty clear that their neighbors are actually quite lovely people, even the ones who had a Harris/Walz sign in their yard (or vice versa).

Step 2: Get offline and recognize that there is no war. There is no "us" and "them." Stop reading the news, get off social media, and discover that your neighbors are... just _people_.

@jkimballcook 100% agreed. It is so easy to be angry today. That's the wide road. There's a whole media ecosystem that feeds on anger.

It is much, much, much harder to foster love, forgiveness, and compassion. Peacemaking takes real guts. It requires courage—and faith.

That is what peacemaking looks like, as per a prophet of God.

@Lew541207 @GovCox Also, while peacemakers may well be able to support the death penalty, they are also able to oppose it. There can be peacemakers on both sides of that particular issue.
