Eye defects are prevalent in northern Uganda 🇺🇬 but access to responsive quality care is challenging. But one group of volunteers doctors from Türkiye 🇹🇷 is conducting free eye surgeries in Yumbe district, in my latest, presented by @GraceKuriaKE 🇰🇪 for @TRTWorld.
Since 2010, Uganda has made significant strides in planning and budgeting for childcare and protection. This #DayoftheAfricanChild, we reaffirm that protecting children's rights demands intentional planning and bold investment in their future.
With similar conditions and innovations from Breaking2, Kipchoge achieved the unthinkable:
1:59:40
The first sub-2-hour marathon in history.
The impact was transformative:
Yesterday in Jinja City, the armed criminals in civilian clothes abducted our comrade Shakur Ssentongo from his workplace in a Toyota Noah vehicle, Reg. No. UAF 154P and took him to an unknown destination.
This evening, in Hoima City, they have violently abducted our comrade Bashabe Vianne (commonly known as Vian Media on Tiktok) from his workplace in a Drone, Reg. No. UBK 461D. His family has been told that he has been taken away from Hoima to an unknown place in Kampala.
We are still looking for comrade Muvawala Charles who was abducted after 1:00am yesterday.
They are doing all this to intimidate and discourage participation. Unknown to Museveni and the criminals he uses, these crimes are awakening more Ugandans and giving them more reason to fight for their freedom! No amount of persecution will ever prevent the people from fighting to be free!

Hassan Hiwumbire, the Wandegeya DPC has got a family, a wife and 3 children. It's sad to see him treat other people's children this way.
In this Ramathan season, I imagine Hassan wakes up in the whee hours, and eats Daaku with his family, in preparation for the day's fasting.
Then in the morning, he sets out to go and work. This here is part of the "work" that Hassan does.
May God help this brute, because one wonders where all this rage comes from.
I visited @kizzabesigye1 in his prison cell today. He was lying on a small bed that occupies the whole length of the room. A pile of old newspapers & 2 old cardboard boxes next to his bed left room for one stool to sit on.
There were about six or seven locked doors that I went through before getting to his room, which is along a dark and narrow corridor. Someone told me that this is the special prison for suspected terrorists.
It was very painful to find @kizzabesigye1 in such humiliating circumstances. ../2
