@Fightn4food@ewanmakepeace@GergelyOrosz Grouping is the only other reason I can think of. Two of my speakers are sound bars that I like to connect with the other speakers in the area for some added richness, but that requires grouping them pretty much every time.
@VicVijayakumar I cannot agree with this more, both that each person’s journey is their own and that they will burn out if they push too hard/long. And burnout suuuucccckkkssss. Redditor once said his burnout prevented coding FOR YEARS on a subconscious level. Freakouts etc.
@trobuling@hammer_mt@GergelyOrosz FTA: “At one point, he threatened a “thermonuclear name & shame” against advertisers who paused their spending because they were concerned about his plans to loosen content moderation rules on X.”
Now THAT is some good old fashioned blackmail.
@trobuling@hammer_mt@GergelyOrosz I honestly haven’t seen this dude make a valid point in a while. And I genuinely used to admire him for the challenges he was uniquely tackling. Damn shame that one.
@trobuling@hammer_mt@GergelyOrosz Who, Musk? About companies unwilling to advertise on a platform whose owner is perpetuating unhinged antisemite dreck? That they’re, in fact, “blackmailers”? Nah, I won’t be granting that point as decent.
@trobuling@hammer_mt@GergelyOrosz Sadly this kind of rhetoric is far from an innocent flourish. It’s designed to create a loud enough echo in the less discerning listeners that it becomes “true”. It’s the other side of the “fake news” coin.
@taylor_dallas@VicVijayakumar@taylor_dallas you are 100% correct. I make 3 drinks well and I was confusing the simple syrup from the margarita with the maraschino liqueur from the aviation.
@danmall Uh, I would watch the shit outta this. Design as a discipline is fascinating, but a huge blind spot for me. Please tell me you’ve got a way to make this happen!
@ShohamGilad@itaymendel And I’ve had little luck finding community-driven info (blogs, podcasts, Twitter discussions, etc) about Bit use and/or case studies in the wild, nor can I find much evidence of mid/large orgs using it successfully in any detail. Any help there?
@ShohamGilad@itaymendel Thank for your replies y’all! I’m very much looking forward to seeing the big React env update (React 18!) among other things, but I’m concerned about time between major releases and lack of frequent minor/bug releases. Any plans to change cadence?
@dan_abramov I’m late to the party, but is there any chance you might offer some sort of hybrid component that does all rendering server-side but can still ship lightweight client JS that doesn’t affect rendering, like an onClick analytics handler?
@ThePrimeagen Would love to recommend @bitdev_ but have serious concerns about maturity, adoption rate, lack of community driven dev resources, number and age of GitHub issues, speed of development, etc. No one is talking about it! Just so odd and red flag-y.
@ThePrimeagen Now, do we break common UI packages out into a new monorepo(s) and move to a polyrepo setup where each app is in a separate repo? Or improve our current monorepo to use something better like Nx? (Build times rn are terrible)
