I’m sorry but this is completely deranged. I sympathize with the thirst for vengeance, and Nidal Hasan certainly deserves to die for what he did… but a public execution is giving a terrorist exactly what he wants: publicity. They fantasize about being martyred like this, in front of a crowd (and a live TV audience???). It’s ISIS recruitment slop.
One of the worst ideas in a long time.
Hasan should face the death penalty, but making his execution public and streaming it? Beyond disgusting. Public executions are what oppressive dictatorships like Iran and Afghanistan do. It should not be happening in America.
@CollinRugg Admitting you have reasonable doubt, refusing to apply the law because you’re overcome with emotions, and ultimately siding with the government is actually the opposite of being a patriot
I have seen numerous posts like this hailing the holdout juror as some kind of hero and even expressing hope that the jury was hung for impermissible reasons, such as personal beliefs or political opinions. This is an incredibly irresponsible position for national leaders to take.
We do not know exactly what happened in that room. Of course, it is possible for jurors to hold out for permissible reasons well within their oath, but they can also hang a jury by ignoring the evidence or refusing to deliberate. Either way, politicians should not be promoting anarchy in our jury rooms.
Lastly, an editorial comment: it is completely absurd to call someone who sided with the government a patriot. We used to call them loyalists.
“Our job is to set aside our feelings and focus solely on the facts.” -DA Cruz yelled at the crowd, while failing to control his temper during his emotional argument that completely ignored most facts.
I guess we should just rip up the Constitution now...
I don’t think Lindsay Clancy should go free.
But EVERY defendant deserves the right to an attorney, a fair trial, and a VIGOROUS defense.
Those rights don’t disappear because the crime is horrific or because we despise the defendant.
If we start deciding who deserves those protections and who doesn’t, then those protections mean nothing for ANY of us.
"And It’s so infuriating that not only do they not get care. But lets just talk about the names that they label women that are either depressed or have hormonal imbalances.
They call them baby blues. Do you think for a second If a man had erectile dysfunction they'd call it penis blues? No! Because it minimizes what you're suffering from! & we're here to change that on behalf of Lindsay!"

I’m going to continue raising questions in relation to the Lindsay Clancy murder trial. I know my position is unpopular with a lot of my friends.
The question is not whether something terrible happened. It is whether the Commonwealth proved Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible beyond a reasonable doubt. It did not.
In Massachusetts, once lack of criminal responsibility is raised, the burden stays on the state. They have to prove she either had no mental disease or defect, or that she still had the substantial capacity to know the act was wrong and to control herself. That is a high bar. This record does not clear it.
She spent months begging for help. Thirteen-plus psychiatric medications. Suicide hotlines that turned her away. A former mother-in-law, a labor and delivery nurse, who called her a wonderful mother who was struggling. Treating doctors who never diagnosed postpartum psychosis, including a McLean psychiatrist who admitted she had never treated it. Then a defense forensic psychologist and Dr. Phillip Resnick telling the jury she was in psychosis, heard a command voice, and lost substantial capacity.
The state’s “she planned it” theory is sending her husband for takeout and checking drive times. That is not proof she understood the wrongfulness of killing her children or could stop herself.
She cut herself and went out a second-story window immediately after.
First-degree murder requires more than a tragic result. It requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt of responsibility and premeditation. The experts are split. The treatment history is a mess.
The jury has already said twice it cannot agree.
IMHO That is what reasonable doubt looks like.
The detectives screwed up. They should have also considered the husband as a potential culprit. They did not. I guarantee you this is what the jury is hung up on… At least those who don’t think the evidence supports a verdict that is beyond a reasonable doubt.
HUNG JURY OR NOT GUILTY.
The people saying:
"I had postpartum depression & I didn’t kill my kids, so Lindsay Clancy didn't have it."
Imagine saying:
"I had cancer & I didn't die, so I don't believe cancer is fatal."
🤦🏽♀️
Not all women “support” Lindsay Clancy. Some of us support the fact that she was suffering from a mental illness that no one takes seriously and she begged for help. She belongs in a mental institution for the rest of her life. She’s not a happy woman. She’ll never be. She’s OK with that,, and so am I.
But she does not belong in prison.
I suffered from severe PPD. This could’ve been me.
Maybe I just have more compassion than the people who refuse to see this for what it is: tragic. All the way around. And the longer we keep our head in the sand and scream “burn the witch” the more this will happen. And I won’t have that blood on my hands.
Remembering the late, great Dolly, who brought joy, comfort and inspiration to so many - including the millions of children given free books through her Imagination Library. We will always ❤️ you.
I get that Patrick Clancy could not be home with Lindsay Clancy and their children every minute, but after your wife tells you “I’m thinking of hurting the children” maybe just fkng maybe you hire someone to ALWAYS BE WITH YOUR CHILDREN and never leave them alone with your wife. Maybe tell ONE JUST ONE of the multiple Psychiatrists, Psychologists that Shes literally said “I’m thinking of hurting the children. Do you think that may have helped get her admitted!
I truly don't understand how people cannot grasp that no one is excusing what Lindsay did. Two things can be true. What happened was horrifically tragic, AND she was mentally ill and repeatedly tried to get help. Acknowledging one does not take away from the other. Mental illness is a real thing. Acknowledging that does not take away from what happened. #LindsayClancy #LindsayClancyTrial
