After rejecting a plan that would allow free lunch for kids who go hungry, North Dakota senators voted to increase their allowance for meals by 29%. If signed they will be allowed reimbursement of $45 PER Meal breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
@jacasiegel My dad still talks about the year I was broke and gave everyone cookies. He loved them. This year, he’s 92. I’m giving him and my brother (who works outside in winter) some amazing toe warmers from a woman owned Aboriginal business in Canada, Aurora Heat.
@JessHutchinson @HalliePalladino Not saying the system isn’t broken, but it gave me a tremendous amount of sympathy for nonprofits struggling to survive within the system.
@JessHutchinson @HalliePalladino I still hate it, but much less so after I attended a training a few years ago that laid out in no uncertain terms how very clearly the data reflects that end of year giving is a HUGE percentage of giving. A truly eye popping amount.
