Dimple Patel, AFSP Illinois Chapter volunteer spoke to us about stigma in the South-Asian community.
It’s okay to have bad mental health days. It doesn’t mean you failed or that your progress wasn’t real, it means that you’re human.
Take a break and allow yourself to practice self-care. You’ll get through this. 💚
And yes, an appropriate response to “tell me how to do better” can be, “it’s not my job to educate you. Do the work of justice. Be an ally. Grow. Serve. Learn.”
