We NEED to SPEAK UP!! Change won't happen unless we do!
Dyslexics in BC need 1) Early Screening 2) Structured Literacy 3) Trained Teachers 4) Access to Accomodation 5) Funding
This needs to be done with Legislation.

This is 100% true! There are so many children who require extra supports to succeed in school and life. There needs to be a plan in place that ensures no child is left behind.
Adequate funding in schools.
Proper medial system for diagnosis.
@richardzussman Important to note the 'hubs' were not intended to support only autistic children but all disabled children. The plan was seriously flawed, but this leaves us worrying about the many, many children who are currently not getting anything. What is the government's plan for them?
@TrevHal Thank you for pushing through the petition against the removal of individual #autism funding. Your constant pressure on the @bcndp was admirable, moving, & extremely helpful.
Our family rests easy tonight thanks to your commitment to this cause.
Thank you for opening up the conversation to families and care givers. There’s still more work that needs to be done.
Diagnosis takes far too long in BC that needs to change. More professionals need to be recruited into this field and retention a priority. #VoiceAndChoiceBC
Listening to families is a key priority for this government. We're maintaining individualized funding for children with an autism diagnosis, and @MitziDeanBC and I look forward to working with all partners to make sure our services work for every child. https://t.co/AvpUOK6cBe
It’s been a year since I started the Petition against the thoughtless cuts to Autism Individual Funding. Since then over 24,000 people have signed, and Still NO response from the @bcndp despite reaching out multiple times. #AutismAwareness
@MitziDeanBC how can you guarantee kids will get proper care if they have not been diagnosed by a professional? Will the “No Experience” Behaviour Interventionist’s your hiring for the Pilot HUB be conducting diagnosis’ for these kids? ..What could go wrong?
@KirkpatrickWVC @MitziDeanBC @BCLiberalCaucus Hi Karin, It’s so frustrating listening to her state they are trying to build a better system for all children with disabilities yet they have not announced any new funding to support this system and the influx of children seeking care. SHOW US THE MONEY
@MitziDeanBC you want to build a system that doesn’t leave any child behind…THEN SHOW US THE MONEY….How will you provide services for all of these children without increasing the budget for it? Where will all the service providers come from?
@jjhorgan@Dave_Eby @MitziDeanBC and you wonder why #autism parents are so against the same ministry responsible for the mistreatment of Indigenous children to take over care for all children with disabilities. #parentsknowbest Individual Funding Must Remain
This is a pivotal shift toward real and meaningful change that respects Indigenous rights and improves services and supports for Indigenous children, youth and families.
