💡Key findings:
📍vaccines against COVID KP.2 variant had 68% effectiveness
📍 Maternal RSV vaccine & RSV vaccines in adults >=60 had effectiveness of >=68% against hospitalization.
📍Flu shot had effectiveness of 48% in adults ages 18-64 & 67% in kids against hospitalization.
As of today, #Medicare will no longer cover #telehealth visits as it did during (it’s still during btw) the pandemic unless Congress extends or makes permanent coverage granted during the pandemic. That means patients on the health insurance plan would no longer be able to take medical appointments from home.

What if the lapse lasts more than a couple of weeks?
The thing is that it trickles down to everything else, because commercial insurance will typically use Medicare as a gold standard. They use Medicare to think about how they’re reimbursing, about whether they need to have pay parity for different things. And so there becomes the requirement, again, for the in-person visit. I am worried to see not only how it’s going to affect Medicare patients and patients in rural areas, but how this is going to trickle into commercial policy.
What can you do?

Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I am one of your constituents.
I urge you to protect and expand Medicare coverage for telehealth. The pandemic is ongoing, and 1 in 5 people who get COVID develop Long COVID. That means nearly 70 million Americans are now living with Long COVID, and like me, they depend on telehealth for safe, reliable care.
In-person appointments are too risky. Without mandatory masking in healthcare settings, every visit threatens my health. Travel itself leaves me with severe long-term repercussions. Telehealth allows me to focus on why I’m there—getting care—instead of being exhausted or harmed by the process.
This isn’t just about Long COVID. People with chronic and disabling conditions also need safe, consistent access to care. Removing Medicare telehealth coverage would cut off life-saving access for millions of vulnerable Americans.
Please protect this essential option and ensure telehealth remains fully covered under Medicare.
Thank you for your time and support.
**Shorter/ Broader Approach.
Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I am your constituent.
I’m asking you to protect and expand Medicare telehealth. The pandemic is ongoing, and millions of Americans with chronic and disabling conditions rely on telehealth for safe, reliable care. For us, in-person visits are dangerous without mandatory masking, and the travel itself can cause serious harm.
Telehealth is the only safe way many of us can consistently access care. How can we make America healthy again if we’re removing access to care for millions?
Please ensure Medicare continues to fully cover telehealth so patients like me can get the care we need.
Thank you.

We estimate 1 in 148 Americans are actively infectious. This equates to 2.3 million infections/week, expected to result in >100,000 new #LongCOVID conditions & >800 deaths.
A room of 100 people is a coin toss of an exposure.
