We may be embarrassed or sad or even shocked at ourselves, but He is not. He loves you. He already suffered for what you are dealing with. Trust in that and love yourself. It’s freeing. Then love others as they are. It’s a beautiful and wonderful way to live. #easter
“He is the Lord of the living, and the living make mistakes. He's not embarrassed by us, angry at us, or shocked. He wants us in our brokenness, in our unhappiness, in our guilt and our grief.”

I previously posted an excerpt from this speech on the floor by AOC. But I think it warrants the posting of a more complete version.
Republicans have good reason to fear this woman, because her ability to cut through their BS is a master class in the art of political engagement.
She absolutely understands how to sell a values driven argument and her honesty, integrity and passion spills out from every point she eloquently makes.

When I was a building principal, we had a group of boys who were consistently getting office referrals during lunch for aggressive and disruptive behaviors. In the past, these behaviors had led to increasingly severe consequences that did not reduce the negative behaviors (and caused some students to be sent home and to miss instruction). I sat down with the group and we worked together to come up with a plan on what to do during lunch. One of the boys asked if we could start a knitting club, since his Auntie had recently taught him how to knit. Since he was a leader of the group, the other boys agreed. I asked them to come back tomorrow with some ideas of what to knit. The next day one of the boys said that he wanted to knit little hats for the preemies at the hospital, since his little cousin was there and that a nurse mentioned that they had run out of the little hats. The boys knitted daily and we delivered the hats to the hospital. We received many heartfelt thank you notes from families, nurses and doctors (and even an in-person visit with a personal thank you and cookies from a newborn's mom). This group continued to grow as did our ability to create knitted hats for preemies. This became a huge success for the participating students. There was significant improvement in the students’ behavior, attitude, achievement, and attendance. It is so important to think outside of the box for “win-win” solutions. It really isn’t the WHAT you do that is important, it is the WHY you are doing it! Our knitting group become a team, family, and community.

I remember sitting at the nurse’s station in January of 2018, writing a note. One of the nurses asked me a personal question and I told her, “You know, I think I finally realized that my life was just meant to be hard.”
She laughed and said, “Come on, you’re a doc. You probably-
I just had the privilege of meeting Mr. Rowe. I was contacted by his wife who is confined to the bed who called and said they really needed help . I pulled up to the yard not knowing what to expect . At first I thought I was at the wrong house . Didn’t think someone lived here . I walked up to the door & knocked to see if anyone was home . I could hear a sweet little voice “ hello”. We talked thru the door and told them I was the guy they called . I could hear his wife say “ Thank you Jesus “. Mr. Rowe said he would be right out and came to the front to talk to me . He told me the grass hasn’t been cut since July 2022 and that him and his wife are having a hard time . He also said over 10 ppl came by in the past to look at the lawn but passed on it . And I had doubts myself if I could even do it , but I got started and today, my mower & weed eater cut this down like butter. It took a while but it was worth seeing him smile . The entire time he sat on his steps just watching . You could tell how much it meant to him .
So glad I could help them and bring a little smile to them . I told them I’ll be back every 2 weeks to maintain it and work on it more . Putting the care, back in lawn care .

My dad (82)is the cutest. He just called to find out where to go to find my grandbabies’ soccer game—His great-grand kids. All 3 5yr olds play on the same team. (If you’ve done this, you know how confusing this gets at the park) I wish I was there! He is literally the best human.

It’s the guns
I believe that if we make an effort to develop peace of mind within ourselves and cultivate a proper appreciation of the oneness of humanity, we can create a happier, more peaceful world. What we need is common sense—the positive use of intelligence—and warm-heartedness.

The ages and backgrounds of each and every one of those shooters differs.
But two things do not -
Innocent people were murdered going about their daily lives, and an AR-15 or a version of an AR-15 was used to murder them.
How the hell is banning them even UP for debate?
This nation was built on peaceful protest. No elected official should lose their job simply for raising their voice – especially when they’re doing it on behalf of our children.
@metteharrison O. M. G. I would, too if I looked like that in this color. I had jelly shoes in the 80’s this color and I still miss them. It’s all back. Wish I had All those colors back.
I’d wear those shoes daily if I still had them. You rock this.
