I did my part to hold systems and individuals to account through my grievance. I saw up close how it is stacked against public servants like me. I had to explain what anti Black racism is to a decision maker who has never had to endure the barriers that I had to endure. And then had to be told that they didn’t think what I experienced met the threshold of discrimination

There’s no equivalent of an “unfair labor practice strike” in Canadian labor law.
In Canada, only unionized workers can lawfully strike & only when in a legal strike position (which is a very narrow window to time).
An employer’s illegal acts are irrelevant to this analysis.
In 1978 postal workers defied back to work legislation.
The strike lasted 10 days ending only after many picket line firings and the arrest of the national leadership.
No union on its own can win against an anti-worker gov’t.
