LifETIME CDT Student.
Can’t believe it’s been two weeks since our joint lifETIME/ BLAST / @ECMage22 conference - Thanks to our brilliant @CdtStudents for their contribution to the event - we look forward to our next conference in June. @UofGlasgow@UofGSciEngGrads#PhD#TeamUofG
I had such a wonderful time at the Lake District with @CDTLifETIME so thankful for my friends and future colleagues in the field! Special thanks to @janebalfred and @NML_ChemBioGC Elena Sanchez for our trainings!!
That’s a wrap for CDT BRUM 2023! The conference was hosted by Formulation Engineering, with 7 different participating CDTs. Students were given the opportunity to network and formally present their research to their peers.
See you all next year!

3/ Current #goldstandard methods cannot feasibly meet this demand.
To overcome this, my @CDTLifETIME#PhD project aims to optimise spinner flask systems for the mass production of MSCs for autoimmune-related therapeutics.
Any questions are more than welcome!
#LifETIMETC23
1/ Upscaling #MesenchymalStromalCell (#MSCs) cultures for therapy.
The current annual incidence of #autoimmune conditions is increasing by a rate of 3- 9% worldwide, with ~4 million of the UK population afflicted.
These are highlighted by the loss of immune cell #tolerance.
2/ MSCs are key cells for therapy.
Whilst possessing substantial immuno-suppressive capabilities and capacity for restoring tissue functionality, MSCs do not induce a #graftvhost inflammatory response.
But MSCs are rare and require expansion to become a viable treatment option.
Day 2 of the @TheBurnScotland began with a workshop on effective negotiation and entrepreneurship. Followed by an inspiring talk from @CDTLifETIME director @DalbyMatthew
Congrats to everyone involved in this excellent paper in @NatureComms 🎉
A big thank you to @RossLabGroup and @DalbyMatthew for the opportunity to be a part of this exciting research! Here's to many more @JaspreetkBansal!
Congrats @RossLabGroup - this great paper in
@NatureComms demonstrates (1) that nanotopography can maintain immunomodulatory MSC phenotype and (2) identify activity metabolites to be identified allowing large scale culture.
