Elon buying Twitter and restoring free speech was unironically one of the most pivotal moments in the 21st century
Its effects will be studied for generations
Wow. Got them dead to rights.
A main fundraising apparatus of the left was consistently and knowingly breaking the law, and hiding it.
If it was the right caught doing this, it would 100% be the top news story for WEEKS in the legacy media.
A fully and rapidly reusable rocket will fundamentally change how humanity accesses outer space. “The Holy Grail of Rocketry” continues the ongoing Starship series with a look back at the scrappy days of SpaceX engineers proving reuse was possible and takes you onboard a high-seas race to recover a floating Starship
@JasonBud All I want from Grok Build is to let me CTRL-Z it to the background so I can do some quick things in the terminal before getting back into Grok Build
The White Box Project is live.
We hand-reviewed over 10,000 police booking records from Florida’s five largest counties with readily available booking information. What we found was harrowing.
In the sample we analyzed, nearly 40 percent of records marked “White” were of criminals who were actually Black, Brown, Muslim, Hispanic, or Asian.
Every case published on the site can be examined individually, alongside the original public record and our classification.
Remember, this is Florida, the same state where tonight voters will hawkishly watch the results of the Republican primary for governor because the election in November is a foregone conclusion.
Imagine the error rate for blue states.
I hope you will look through the website and see the same ugliness we’ve seen while making it—a prime example of the collapse of the American justice system and its ability to bring justice to you: Americans.

@TurkeyBeaver@SpaceX Since these were launched from different pads, is there any reason they couldn't be launched simultaneously? What's the limiting factor for how close the launches can be?
Extracts from article in Spectator 16th August by Brendan O’Neill:
Behold the human wreckage of the cult of diversity. The tragedy of Jason Arday is that he was both built up and destroyed by the ruthless machinery of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). The academy made him into the golden boy of its philistine project of ‘decolonisation’ and gave not one thought to what the consequences might be if his thin story unravelled, as it inevitably would. No one can deny it now: wokeness makes false gods and real tragedies. . .
This is the poison chalice of the state religion of diversity. It lays traps for the very people it celebrates. It handpicks members of ‘the oppressed’ for moral anointment and institutional gushing while leaving them open to exposure as others start to query their credentials. That’s the toxic bargain of identity politics: it builds teetering pedestals for ethnic-minority thinkers, meaning their fall from grace is often twice as fatal.
And what a pedestal they made for Arday. They worshipped him as ‘the best in the world’. They beatified him as a black wunderkind whose very presence in a place like Cambridge might help to wash away its sins of whiteness. They canonised him as a living monument to ‘decolonisation’. It was precisely this, their giddy, narcissistic desire to manufacture a kind of black saviour, that made them turn a blind eye to the questionable elements of Arday’s CV and life story. They sacrificed their due diligence to the god of decolonisation.
And Arday suffered. He was both poster boy and sacrificial lamb of the diversity crusade. Even as he gained from it – reaching the dizzying heights of a Cambridge professorship – he was being damned by it. The foundation of myth and sand his starry career was built on was untenable. Its collapse was a given. It is a testament to the ideological blindness of the inhabitants of our ivory towers that none of them foresaw it. . . .
The Faustian ruthlessness of it all is mindblowing.
. . . The media is the only institution in this entire tragic scandal that did its job properly. Journalists found a story and they told it. It was the academy and Arday’s colleagues who failed to do their jobs. Who failed to prize merit over identity, and failed to foresee the public embarrassment that would befall their falsely promoted friend. They ignored the truth – the media found it.
I and others have been arguing for years that the politics of identity is a disaster for all, black and white alike. White kids are overlooked, black kids are patronised. Whites are branded ‘privileged’, blacks ‘oppressed’. Whites are seen as the beneficiaries of historic crimes who must atone for past sins, blacks as history’s perma-victims who require the gracious helping hand of the state. We are demonised or infantilised according to the accident of our race.
Enough. Let our monument to Jason Arday be the restoration of the true ideal of equality. We couldn’t save Jason but we can save merit from the monstrous jaws of identity.
"Woke 1 sought a world where ppl could work, move and live without molestation by the powerful who want to subjugate us.
Nope. No way. Do not let them do this. "Woke" was a complex phenomenon with different ways to model it. But the best way to conceptualize it was as an attempt to destroy the natural Social Value system based on character and replace it with an unnatural Identity based one. Ill explain:
It used to be that the "Social Value" of a person in their community was, in large part, determined by things that mattered. Things like their ethics, their behavior, their honor, their trustworthiness etc etc. All of this would be summed up by the word "character". We valued ppl of high character and devalued ppl of low
"Woke" is an attempt to destroy that system and create one where the primary social value of a person is their identity. Their behavior is irrelevent. Their character is irrelevent. All that matters is their identity: their race, sex, ethnicity, religion or sexual preference. THATS how social value is determined. If someones identity sits high enough on the "Hierarcy of Oppression" then they have social value, and are given social virtue that they did not earn and many times do not deserve. If their identity that sits low on the Hierarchy of Oppression, they do not. In neither case does their character matter. We see this all the time. Every person is rightfully wary of men hanging around womens bathrooms. But put that man in a dress, call him "Trans", and by dint of the trans identity being high on the Hierarchy of Oppression, the Woke retards will now pretend like this man couldnt possibly be a threat. He is given social value and implied virtue through nothing he did, no trust that he earned, simply by his identity. This kind of Social Value system is of course a magnet for predators.
Another good example of this is in the way the Wokes treated George Floyd vs Daniel Penny.
They made a Saint out of George Floyd - with statues, memorials, vigils - despite him being a genuinely garbage person with long history of criminality.
Daniel Penny, on the other hand, was demonized - with character assasination by the media and criminal prosecution by NYC - despite him being a genuine hero who showed courage, strong character and a sense of duty.
Why would they do this? Because the lifelong criminal Floyd had the "right" identity, and the Hero Penny had the "wrong" one. They had to destroy Penny BECAUSE he showed strong character and heroic behavior. Thats the worst kind of crime in a Woke-dominant culture (such as NYC politics), is to do something heroic and honorable. Meanwhile actual criminals get statues and murals, because the best way the revolutionaries can highlight the new primacy of "identity" over "character" as the ultimate indicators of social value is to make heros out of criminals with the right identity and criminals out of heros with the wrong one.
So when ppl trying to whitewash Woke as "just some overzealous do-gooders trying to make the world a better plave and going too far" dont allow it. Unless there is a broad understanding about how deeply sinister Woke really is/was, we will be doomed to repeat it.
No society could exist as Free and Just if existed in the image of the Woke ideal.

Contrast two kinds of men now arguing over America's future.
One looked at empty Texas scrubland and saw the largest building on Earth, then summoned $16.8 billion in capital, thousands of construction tradesmen, and 3,000 permanent minds to raise and run it. Before that he saw rockets landing upright when every expert called it fantasy, and electric cars people would line up to buy, and he materialized those too. His tools are reason, vision, and trade. Every dollar he commands was handed to him by a customer who got something better in return.
The other kind is the politician who could not pour one yard of that concrete. But he holds the one tool of his trade, the state's gun. He calls the building excess, drafts the wealth tax to seize its output, and names the seizure compassion and justice. Ask the senator demanding Musk's billions what he has ever built. His one skill is the forced transfer of what abler men have made.
When Terafab rises, understand what you are looking at. The unforced human mind, made visible at scale. The looters will still demand their cut, and the demand itself is the confession. Nobody loots an empty desert. Wealth must be created before it can be seized, and it is created by men like Musk.
@SpaceXAI@elonmusk I'm loving Grok Build! It's fast, understands what I want and gives it to me in one shot. The interface is great too.
I have one feature request: Make Ctrl+Z suspend the CLI and give me back the shell I launched it from, then fg to resume.
Right now the TUI eats the terminal and job control doesn’t work. Copilot CLI does this correctly. ! mode / quit+resume is not the same thing.
@grok I love Grok Build so much.
For the last few years I've had an intermittent problem with tcsh (my company's default shell 🤮) deleting recent commands from history when I merge the history with my .history file. I tried many different options and orderings of 'history -S', 'history -M', etc. but never found a fix that worked reliably.
Today Grok Build actually fixed it.
I briefly described the problem and Grok Build:
* pulled the tcsh source and figured out how history save/merge really works
* showed the built-in “merge” isn’t a proper sort by time, so a messy history file can eat your newest commands
* found that my history file was messy/corrupted - events were not correctly sorted by time
* built a small test that reproduced the problem
* replaced the broken merge with a simple external merge by timestamp (at my request), plus safer merge and exec aliases
I’ve wanted this history fix for years. Grok Build went way beyond my expectations by downloading and debugging the actual source code and creating its own testcase to reproduce the problem. That was awesome!
In the same session it also reviewed about 8 months of uncommitted home-dir changes, split them into clean commits, wrote nice log messages in my style, and prompted me to approve each one. I ended up with 38 new commits.
