@wilkja67@ak_leeg Thank you! No, I will not be. I decided not to walk, but now that I am thinking about it, I wish that I had chosen to walk rather than just sending it in the mail haha
Q9: I think my goal would be to expose students to the process of making since it will still be new to them. Hopefully it will instill some wonder and creativity and they will want to do it again! #wemake19
Q8: Absolutely! I'm not so sure it's about them helping but more about exposing them to what a makerspace is and how they are so beneficial! There are always skeptics #wemake19
Q7: I know that my district puts emphasis on creating self-directed and involved students so I believe that a Maker Day would support their vision. #wemake19
Q6: I think to start out I would only work with students in 6th grade, maybe extend it to the whole middle school, grades 6-8, and their families. If that is successful, I may try to open it to other grades/buildings. #wemake19
Q5: I have to look into the funding for our tech plan more to determine if they would provide any funding for it. If not, I would try to get a grant, maybe through Lockheed Martin since it is a prominent business in our area. #wemake19
Q4: I would not be able to do it all on my own. I would probably enlist the other math teachers I work with, as well as the Librarians and Tech teachers. I may even try to reach out to other content teachers to show them how Making can be used across subjects #wemake19
@TaylorDeMarco2@cudds00 Our tech rooms look like this as well. When I think of tech rooms, I think of when I was in school and it was all woodworking.. not anymore! #wemake19
Q3: I know in our tech rooms they have 3 or 4 3D printers, so that would be something students could use if we did a maker day. We also are able to borrow kits from BOCES that would be useful to use with students. #wemake19
Q2: After talking with our Librarians, we do not have much of a Makerspace, but I know that the district as a whole puts a lot of emphasis on hands-on activities. I am not sure how in-depth of a Makerspace they would support though. #wemake19
@tonnjp96@msharvanhistor1 I was hoping for a delay this morning.. it stopped snowing too early last night for us. It was a bummer this morning when i wasn't able to go back to sleep! #wemake19
Q1: Most snow days I enjoy curling up on the couch, cuddling with my puppy, drinking hot chocolate and watching movies. Yesterday I was able to get my fiance to help with the Christmas decorations (he's a bit of a scrooge) haha #wemake19
Q10: Reading through these tweets I'm realizing that I need to think about all of my students capabilities a little more when planning, including those that are more gifted. #wemake19
