we should be clear about what political violence is.
1. starving people when there is enough food for all of us to eat.
2. denying people healthcare so they die from preventable illnesses
3. denying people shelter
4. increasing police budgets across the country
There is something beautiful about having long term friends that have witnessed multiple versions of you and loved you unconditionally through each version
I think the worst thing about grief is that it’s very tempting to want to work through it alone. In private. And often that seems a lot more practical. But you unfortunately cannot. It’s a many people job. You need other people. Even if all they do is remind you of who you are.
To say I’m absolutely heartbroken is an understatement.
Much more to say, but for now, to Alberta’s trans community, and particularly the youth:
You are so loved. You are seen. You are not alone.
And me, and so many others will be with you for every step of this fight.
