Maggie Lloyd Jones saw my Ted Talk on the lack of touch in the care system. In 2018 Maggie responded by providing a quilt as a gift to the guests at our Christmas Dinners. Maggie started a movement and a registered charity called #quiltsforcareleavers

This is an incredible piece of work by @JonathanPieNews.
From the research, to the sequencing, to the performance.
You want to know why so many people are turning away from vapid MSM and looking to political comedy & alternative news? Look no further. 👇
A lovely campaign approach here from @juliaaglionby in Cumbria - I love the idea of candidates moving slowly across every mile of their patch creating time and space for serendipitous encounters + geographical revelations..@RestIsPolitics https://t.co/4IDWlaJJGZ
These remarkable graphs from @jburnmurdoch, who I spoke to at 8.43 on @BBCr4today, show monumental, sudden, devastating social changes, which have civilisational consequences
It is just astonishing how little attention the complete transformation of young adulthood gets
Just published: ground-breaking study of over 23,000 RCTs in Cochrane reviews. Trials hugely underpowered for true effects. Consequently, “statistically significant” estimates seriously overestimate actual treatment effects, can’t trust them. https://t.co/2NlKb0mB4U
This summer with friends I swam 🏊♀️ the River Eden, Cumbria from Source to Sea. 80 miles!

Today we are saying no to @JustStop_Oil and their political wing the Labour Party
We will power ahead with new oil and gas because it’s in the best interests of the British people, of our economy and of our national security
Sadly we have to report that there has been another sickening massacre of pilot whales in the Faroe Islands.
80-100 of these gentle dolphins were butchered today in the 6th Faroe grindadráp (hunt) of 2023. This takes the total cetaceans slaughtered in the archipelago this year to roughly 650.
We've been calling for @Tinganes to be excluded from the @IslandGamesAsso which started yesterday in @Guernsey_2023, UK. The international community must take a stand against this unacceptable torture of EU/UK protected animals.

@TonyJuniper@BBCNews Huge drought pressures on wildlife in Cumbria.
Today was Leg 4 of our River Eden @TheBigSwim Many birds have retreated to the main river corridor due to harsh conditions & lack of water in tributaries & ponds.
River Eden while good in places requires wider buffers- Wildways
