@ElizabethLQuant@cmclymer Omg, had a friend who thought Ring of Fire would be good, and it totally destroyed him also in a way it’s even hard to explain because he wasn’t a bad singer and knew the song.
@JillHennessy Same! Was supposed to leave her and do 8.5 hour drive home today. Stayed to shop for a few last minute things that lasted til late afternoon. Ugly cried when I left but managed to get to ‘wistful smile’ after 3.5 hours when I stopped for the night. Ritz crackers and salami dinner
@Laloofah In 2000, we were looking at houses and there was one I dismissed as “too new to have character but too old to have the features you want.” It was from 1964. I am from 1964. We bought it. I’m happy to know that the house and I are now hot.
@ProfALucas@UDLernerCollege@UDelaware Congratulations (and some condolences for the inevitable less-than-pleasant parts of the job)-from a UD Econ BS grad who also became the first female chair in my Econ dept in 2013.
@KMChanko1 @BCDreyer In that situation, Guess 3: plump, guess 4:drive and you have the answer for certain on guess 5 at the latest. Unless you’re playing hard mode, then, yeah, it’s totally just luck.
@bnhowe@MiBFTo@lingerie_addict I bought a black sleeveless top from Ross in mid/late 90s ($5.99) that was perfect under jacket or solo in summer. Minimum 20 years x 40 wears/year=800 great wears for $6 (less than one cent per wear!) Sadly that quality is hard to find even for $$$ now.
@MJ_Mouton I lobbied hard to my husband to name our daughter Peja in 2004 (had Kings season tix) Thought it would be lovely and unusual. He didn't agree. She's a hs senior and hasn't had another Abigail in class, but there's another Peja who has been in classes with her since pre-school!
@attorneynorton @QondiNtini@chris_notcapn Watch this every Christmas with my BFF and it never isn’t good. Or at least exactly what we want it to be. Which is exactly all we need.
@Maro_Virino @gopRtraitors@OhNoSheTwitnt If someone is trying to put a bag overhead and struggling and I’m behind I always reach out and help without asking because the struggle is immediate. I’ve never had anyone get angry with me for helping them. (I’m 5’5” woman so I get that it’s a different dynamic)
@pmumbower@AtoZrunning So Awesome!! I had one marathon like this where I felt so good the whole time. Around mile 22, I realized it was one of those magic (aka well-trained for) runs. I have mentally bottled the feeling to remind myself why I keep doing this. Huge congrats on a race well done!
Don’t let politics interfere with faith. Biden is a more devout catholic than 90% of the people I went to mass with every Sunday for so much of my life. If the church chooses this moment to pretend that *now* they care about violations of church doctrine, #emptythepews
“Targeting a president who regularly attends Mass and has spent a lifetime steeped in Christian rituals and practices is striking after many conservative Catholics turned a blind eye to the sexual improprieties of former President Donald Trump”

@MJ_Mouton Andy Gibb. Stop judging. 8th grade. my first ever concert. I saved my babysitting money to buy my ticket. Given those parameters, how couldn’t it be awesome? (Side note: how strange now that people I barely knew paid 13-yr-old me to watch their infants and toddlers.)
@drkcwc @PatPontificates Have had same situation. Resort to a version of, “Of all the students I have had, she was one of them.” But only after it was clear they really had no other options for better letters.
