@Catfish_Man Fortunately their latest Element supports a local API (really simple REST endpoint). I have that hooked into Home Assistant which re-exports it to HomeKit. Works great and completely local. Wifi is robust on a dedicated 2.4 GHz IoT SSID.

Instead of “going public,” you could say we’re “going purpose.” Instead of extracting value from nature and transforming it into wealth for investors, we’ll use the wealth Patagonia creates to protect the source of all wealth.

powerd is burning a core’s worth of CPU on Ventura Public Beta 3. And I’ve noticed waking the screen (MBP M1 Max) takes a long time or just does not work.

I talk about how they work on dedicated vs integrated, how to use them in D3D12 (including strategies for uploading from SysRAM -> VRAM), and finish off with some perf tests.
@sdw@morganknutson Yep, mine tracks “preemptively” as well based on motion. It even keeps tracking if it runs out of battery and goes into power save mode! The workout gets finalized when the watch recharges enough to go back to normal mode.
*Mitsuba 3* is now available! It's a major redesign of the lab's infrastructure for differentiable rendering building on the Dr.Jit just-in-time compiler announced yesterday. Full video link: https://t.co/WnfnRWiICm 1/10
Happy and proud to announce that @Shadertoy cofounders @iquilezles and @poljeremias have been awarded the prestigious ACM SIGGRAPH Practitioner Award (https://t.co/Qx4Tgqzvwo) for their decade long work to broaden the use and openness of computer graphics and its learning.
@SteveMoser@siracusa Clearly “SW” stands for software. Hard to think of a reason Apple would omit mentioning an AV1 media engine if it was in M2. There’s no embargo surrounding AV1, vendors are free to ship and announce hardware.
@reneritchie Thanks for sharing about this. I wasn’t aware of this junk bill. It’s not going to save traditional Canadian media companies and it is going to hurt Canadian content creators.
@jacquesgt It’s really great to see innovation in this space! Ferrous Systems just published the first Ferrocene spec, and now this. We use a lot of SPARK at nvidia and it’d be great to have something better (or more general/scalable).
