SAD THREAD: Maybe you’ve heard the news: @AtlantaCivicCircle is going under. It’s another casualty of the current, unforgiving journalism ecosystem — a loss that will leave Atlanta with, by my math, ZERO dedicated housing reporters. Let’s talk about what that means... (1/)
In a remarkable act of self-immolation, @washingtonpost has eliminated sports & Book World, photographers, many foreign bureaus & Metro staff. Amid the carnage, the fact that it also axed most of its arts staff has not drawn much notice. My thoughts: https://t.co/6ieXShAFG9
After just three months, WABE has ended “City Lights Collective,” its weekday arts and culture show that took the place of “City Lights with Lois Reitzes” in July. 😭 https://t.co/qkVt1HfOVr

I'm sad that he is not physically around anymore, but grateful to still have his music, his teachings and to hear all the great musicians that were inspired by his gentle spirit.

Thrilled that Hargrove (dir. Eliane Henri) is now streaming on @PBS. It was heartbreaking to watch, but showed so many of the challenges of being a creative.

Spent my college years in Idaho waiting for Russell Malone's annual week-long stint during the @hampjazz festival. Still love that Jazz at the Bistro album with Benny Green.
