Forty-year-old Christopher G. Robertson was kayaking in Georgian Bay in Collingwood, Ontario, when the kayak took on water and capsized.
He held onto his overturned kayak and called for help. Jamey Ruth Klassen, 16, high school student from Guelph, Ontario, was on the beach and entered the water and swam about 600 feet to the kayak.
By then, Robertson had submerged. Seeing him on the bottom of the lake, Jamey dived 12 feet and pulled him to the surface.
Jamey positioned Robertson face up with his head on her shoulder. He was unconscious and not breathing.
Grasping him around the chest with one arm, she used the other arm and her legs to swim toward shore with Robertson.
Jamey was nearly exhausted and shouted for help. A man on a paddleboard responded, and he and Jamey placed Robertson on the board.
The man took Robertson to shore, where he was removed from the water. Jamey swam to shore. Robertson was revived and taken to a hospital, where he was treated. He recovered.
You reduce crime by eliminating poverty. Crime is reduced with universal healthcare, public housing, livable wages, and free college. Violence is reduced by creating happy, healthy communities that aren't constantly fighting over basic needs and material resources.

Very cool that Brady Tkachuk got extremely mad at the media for speculating about him going to Florida because he sat on a podcast while his brother openly recruited him only for that to happen exactly as anticipated.
2 overwhelming thoughts on the Brady Tkachuk deal...
1: How do you trade him in division...
2: How do you not at least get one roster player from Florida??
Okay 3 thoughts
3: What do guys like Stutzle & Chabot think of this...
They say “you are the company you keep” — and the fact that, a decade later, President Obama is STILL so close to Angela Merkel that the former German Chancellor flew 4,500 miles to celebrate him this week speaks volumes about them BOTH!
While we all know about his accomplishments — killing Bin Laden, achieving record economic growth, winning a Nobel Peace Prize — HERS are equally impressive:
✅ First female Chancellor of Germany
✅ First chancellor to grow up in the former East Germany
✅ Youngest German chancellor since WWII
MOST impressively, before her political career, she earned a doctorate in quantum chemistry and was the only woman in the theoretical chemistry section at the East German Academy of Sciences 🤯

On September 11, 2001, when U.S. airspace was suddenly shut down, dozens of aircraft crossing the Atlantic had nowhere to go.
One of the places that opened its doors was Gander, a small town in Newfoundland, Canada.
Gander International Airport received 38 diverted planes carrying nearly 7,000 passengers and crew.
For a town of around 10,000 people, it was an enormous challenge. But instead of panic, the people of Gander responded with kindness.
Schools, churches, community halls, and homes became shelters. Locals brought food, clothes, blankets, medicine, phones, and comfort.
Strangers were treated like family. Even animals traveling in cargo were cared for.
What happened in Gander became one of the most powerful stories of humanity after 9/11. In a moment of fear and tragedy, a small Canadian town reminded the world that compassion can still rise higher than hate.
