I won't pretend to know more than @elonmusk about Supercharging, but equally, after previously representing ~40K Tesla owners in the UK over the last few years to our Government, Tesla and other parties, I feel without the Tesla Supercharger network Tesla wouldn't have sold anywhere near as many cars to date, the supercharger team are arguably the biggest salespeople in the world for Tesla (even if they don't directly sell cars)! #ChickenOrEggScenario So it has shocked me (and many within the UK/Globally it seems) that Tesla has decided to reduce this supercharger team down (supposedly dramatically in places), I'm yet to hear the fate of the UK/EU teams.
The feelings that I'm seeing at the minute is that most existing owners believe that the network should continue to expand at rapid rates not just for their own selfish wants/needs but because it's clearly urgently needed in some key places, it's the right thing to do for the mission but primarily because we're only just getting started with EV sales!
With many Tesla supercharger sites opening to the public whilst providing the best level of service/uptime etc for everyone and some key sites urgently needing expansion it's time to capitalise on this desire and not slow down this incredible part of the business / mission in my opinion.
My only other thought is that Tesla's V4 superchargers need some urgent work on them (they're clearly prone to damage more so than V2/V3 and the clips suck) so this is why we're seeing this action/change? 🤷♂️
Whilst Tesla's goal of pushing legacy Auto to make the switch to EVs is arguably now complete, surely it's too soon to slow down this momentum?
Elon, could we kindly ask you to please provide owners more information on this decision?
@tomallencomedy@robbeckettcomic Hey - looking forward to seeing/hearing you both at the Comedy Lunch on Thurs. Hope the corporate hordes make a good ish audience 😊.
Claim to fame: I went to Coopers, and a mate of mine was apparently the last person to get the cane,.
@MPSBromley Hey.. are you able to confirm what object officers found and removed from Cator Park in Beckenham earlier today? Rumours abound and would be good to put it to bed. Cheers
@mrmarksteel Bembom Brothers! Sorry, that’s all I have. A mate did puke on my back during one of the rides (circa 1991). I don’t have the t-shirt anymore.
Does that help?
@mrmarksteel Brought back memories, and a tear to my eye remembering when I accompanied my dad to his diagnosis meeting 20-odd years ago now. Amazing to know you have such great support from family and friends. All. The. Best. We in SE London are rooting for you!
Hey @jitwam.. I’ll eat my back catalogue if that’s not Prince hailing a cab on ‘Confidence’. Tell me it’s so 😊
PS - one of my *top* tracks of ‘23. Thanks for the music 😎👌🏻
The splendid Phill Jupitus made this for Instagram, it is in my view the finest art since them sunflowers. Flick through it at your leisure https://t.co/E9gFwx7qaU
I’m not saying I have all the answers to this but why in 2023 is every UK council not doing this as a bare minimum?
The plan I would implement if I was in charge of EV transport in my council area and actually wanted to make a difference to my residents (using the On Street Residential Chargepoint (ORCS), local electric vehicle infrastructure (LEVI) fund, @innovateuk, @OZEVgovuk and @EnergySvgTrust support):
✅ At least 10% of all council parking bays had 11kW Charging Posts @ 10p/kWh markup on wholesale rate BUT with cheaper overnight tariffs (cost price + 15%) + expansion ready (floor dug and ducting installed) for 25% additional bays
✅ At least 1.4% of council car parking bays with a 100kW+ Rapid Charger
✅ Dedicated website to enable residents to request a gulley in the pavement outside their home for EV charge cables + guidance for residents on how to safely do this (+ reminder to residents this doesn’t mean they have a dedicated spot outside their house) + info for nearby residents (leaflet drop) + at cost work (for anything outside of the scope of available funding)
✅ Lamp post street charging retrofits (where safe to do so) again easy to request one if required
✅ Ensuring all installers of EV charging equipment have a minimum uptime requirement and they're heavily penalised if this fails
✅ Push all local businesses towards information about Government Workplace Charging Scheme (75% funding)
✅ Support Home Charger Sharing Schemes (not sure how but this is potentially important for some key issue locations)
✅ The option of street chargers where possible (remembering the 75% funding option)
✅ Extra support for EV car-sharing schemes (possibly cheaper promotion/lower £/kWh if bought in bulk etc)
✅ Support battery storage locations in the area
✅ Signage, open days and seminars to help people transition with invites to car manufactures etc

The @teslacharging destination charging network has allowed my family and I to travel across Europe and even North America with the wonderful knowledge we're waking up in the morning to a full charge, we've visited great hotels, pubs, châteaus and even a coffee roaster.
It's a crying shame this network is now being left and businesses are ripping the units out and replacing them with often inferior technology but technology they can use to earn money from the units. @elonmusk / @tesla can we please see more investment by Tesla into this wonderful network with V3 wall connectors and 'pay per use' via the Tesla app to ensure businesses can cover the cost of the energy used. Seems like an obvious extra business model for Tesla but it's very limited and primarily North America only right now. Thank you.
@PhotoleapApp Thanks- that is not clear at all! With no idea of how the avatars will turn out (no previews), I really don’t want to have paid pro subs plus another chunk on top to take a punt on it. Something you can sort for the future?
@PhotoleapApp Hey - I paid the full price for Pro, but now the app wants to charge me for AI Avatars? Is that right or should that be included in the Pro subscription?
@PayByPhone_UK No prob - these things happen. Just wanted to make sure I covered all bases in terms of proving I’d tried to pay in case a PCN was issued. Already took screenshots of the app/site etc. Don’t carry cash!
@PayByPhone_UK Hey - connectivity from your app to your cloud service seems to be down at the moment. Same with the mobile site - unable to pay for parking. Known issue?
Hey @Bose Will you update the QC Earbuds II for multi-point Bluetooth, snd poor mic quality?
Even if months away, I’ll buy - but if never, then I’ll go elsewhere. I’m sure my single purchase won’t keep Bose afloat, but there are tons in the same boat as me! Just need to know..
@shaundooley I love my Bose 700nc over the ear headphones. They get used several hours each night (I go to sleep listening to podcasts) plus at work often - so very heavily used. I change the pads every 6-12 months. My (as you know) better half got me them for Xmas one year. Lovely!
