As the White House pushes for more coal, they lamented an “energy landscape perpetually trapped in the 1970s.” How do you say "IRONY"?

Replacing Plastics with Alternatives Is Worse for Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Most Cases | Environmental Science & Technology
If you are concerned about greenhouse gas emissions, don't get confused by pleas to stop using plastics.

This is the type of "mitigation" we need to avoid. Sea levels are rising. We need to adjust. We've known this was coming, & I do not understand why national taxpayers should subsidize coastal homes more.

@RepChuckEdwards most pressing issue: how to get our legislature so it is functioning - drafting, negotiating and passing bipartisan legislation for critical issues.
Good talk with Bob Hanna and @BradRouse74 on the Mar 4 episode of The Climate Buzz on @AshevilleFM
Talked what's happening today, & #Buncombe / #Asheville Blue Horizons Project work to help transition Buncombe County to #CleanEnergy .

@RepChuckEdwards@NewsNation@MarkieMartin go on the interview circuit when you develop a bipartisan bill that has a chance to pass - like Senators before it was tanked by GOP members who want talking points during election cycles, not solutions. I'm done with GOP talking points not designed to reach a solution
@don_kraus@DanaNuccitelli Thanks for your choice @don_kraus ! Cars bought in 2024 will mostly still be on the road in 2035. Our personal decisions this year have a major impact on our countries ability to decarbonize.
@hammackl@TomMoyerUT Lonnie, we have a hybrid & and EV. We thought we'd use the hybrid for traveling too. But we find it's easy to find charge stations as long as you can plug into Tesla Supercharger Network. Now we just drive the EV on extended trips too.
@TomMoyerUT Rest up. I got COVID for Thanksgiving this year - and gave it to Celeste before I knew what it was. No fever, just R E A L L Y tired. Basically I'd wake up to figure out where my next nap was going to be. And cough/congestion. Hope you can rest and recover.
@RepChuckEdwards Thanks, @RepChuckEdwards. For voting to pass the National Defense Authorization Act - providing the funds our military needs, aid to our allies including aid to Ukraine. https://t.co/D0zrZKWxPZ
@johnrhanger Total emissions are what counts.
Even with coal dropping, overall US emissions increased in 2022 continuing rebound since COVID.
There's a downward trend if COVID decrease is skipped, but we need to work on reducing emissions from burning natural gas also

@co2mmit Still working on the furnace. Its a long term plan and transition, not a spontaneous purchase.
As Saul Griffith says -
#Climate change is an emergency, requiring that we make 6 smart decisions over the next 20 years.
#ClimateAction
A real issues we need action on - coastal flood - #Florida and my home state of #NorthCarolina
Just don't try to nationalize the foreseeable costs!
Coastal properties are already uninsurable - surprised the market prices hold up... for now.
