Hon'ble @CMO_Odisha Shri Mohan Charan Majhi Ji, @PMOIndia Modi ji,
Is this the transparent governance Odisha was promised?
After I raised concerns regarding alleged mangrove damage for Eco-Tourism development by @dfopuriwl at Mangrove Eco Retreat, Astaranga, why did the IFS officer in charge of Puri Wildlife Division call me and subject me to an intimidating interaction instead of discussing the environmental concerns raised?
Why were the allegations termed "fake" before any independent scientific inquiry?
Why was the inquiry conducted by the very same office against whom concerns were raised?
Why are repeated concerns regarding mangrove restoration schemes, eco-tourism works, ecological governance, and utilization of public funds in Puri Wildlife Division not being independently examined?
If everything is transparent, why fear a scientific inquiry and vigilance investigation?
When citizens raising environmental concerns lose faith in the system, it is not just a personal issue—it is a governance issue.
Odisha's mangroves, biodiversity, public trust, and public funds deserve accountability. Kindly intervene, order an independent vigilance enquiry, and appoint honest, transparent, conservation-oriented IFS leadership in Puri Wildlife Division.

Million Mangroves by 2030 — I invite you to be part of this journey. 🌊🚣♂️🙏
Where the ocean takes everything, we are rebuilding our only protection.
I work at the Devi River mouth in Odisha — a historic 1999 super cyclone landfall zone and one of India’s most climate-vulnerable coastlines.
Here, climate change is not a discussion. It is something we live with.
Through Odisha Paryavaran Sanrakshan Abhiyan Trust with limited resources, we have restored over 48,000 mangroves, and 65,000 more saplings are under nurturing. By following native species and best practices, we are maintaining over 80% survival — led by 145 women from marginalized fishing communities who depend on these ecosystems for their daily livelihoods.
For us, mangroves are not just trees.
They are protection from cyclones, a source of income, and a natural system that keeps our coastline alive.
But despite all efforts, we still struggle to scale up.
I believe this can grow into something much bigger — a #MillionMangrovesBy2030 movement, built by communities, for resilience and survival.
If this resonates with you, I invite you to learn more and walk this journey with us.

From Bare Mudflats to Thriving Mangroves: Women Rebuilding One of India’s Most Climate-Vulnerable Coastlines
This mangrove restoration site at the Devi River Mouth in Odisha tells a powerful story of resilience and community-led climate action.
The first image was captured in November 2023, when women from vulnerable coastal communities stood ankle-deep in mud, planting mangrove saplings in a barren and erosion-prone landscape.
The second image was captured in December 2025.
In just over two years, this once-degraded site has transformed into a thriving mangrove ecosystem.
Many of these women come from families dependent on fish and crab collection for survival. Due to human pressure, pollution, and degradation, mangroves had become severely threatened.
Instead of blaming communities, we worked with them.
We motivated women, built trust, provided training, strengthened indigenous knowledge, and created local leadership. Today, these same women are becoming the strongest protectors of mangroves, shorelines, fisheries, and biodiversity.
At OPSA Trust, we have planted more than 45,000 mangroves across multiple sites in Odisha and engaged 145 women from marginalized coastal families through skill-building and stewardship.
This coastline is also part of the region devastated by the 1999 Super Cyclone, where nearly 10,000 people lost their lives.
Today, we have identified nearly 200 hectares of vulnerable land where mangrove restoration can strengthen climate resilience, reduce disaster risk, and protect communities for generations.
The community is ready. The women are ready. The land is ready.
We now need support from you all willing to invest in nature-based solutions.
Join our struggle. Join our sacrifice. Help us restore one million mangroves by 2030. 🌱

Field monitoring continues this morning at one of our mangrove regeneration sites, assessing habitat conditions at Devi River Mouth along the vulnerable Odisha coastline. 🌱
This last-mile work is a constant learning—often shaped by struggle and sustained through individual support—while strengthening oceanic health and coastal resilience.
Let’s join together to scale up community-led mangrove regeneration and long-term ecosystem resilience. 🙏

A valuable exchange with Odia young leaders who have invested decades in conservation and climate action, gathered at #GreenHeroesSummit on the sidelines of the @DharitriLive1 Youth Conclave on Climate Change. Thanks to Sir @SatpathyLive & Madam @AdyashaSatpath3 for uniting us.🙏
My heartfelt gratitude to Popular Odia Daily The Dharitri, CEO Madam Smt. @AdyashaSatpath3 , Chief Editor Sir Shri. @SatpathyLive for giving me this opportunity to serve as part of the Climate Grant Jury.
Travelling across odisha and meeting remarkable young leaders reaffirmed my belief that real climate action begins at the grassroots.
Thank you entire @DharitriLive1@OrissaPOSTLive team for your guidance, coordination, and for creating such a meaningful platform for youth climate leadership. 🌿🙏

A once-degraded mangrove patch is regaining life with diverse exclusive true species — Rhizophora, Avicennia, and Bruguiera gymnorhiza — now thriving and reaching heights of up to 6 feet. 🌱🌊
Most importantly, this journey has motivated and transformed the behavior of mangrove-dependent communities in 2 Gram Panchayats. Once dependent on cutting, they now actively nurture and protect mangroves — recognizing their true value for livelihoods and as a shield against natural calamities.
This community-led change gives us hope. With your support, we can scale up this initiative and strengthen coastal resilience across more villages.
I thank all well-wishers for the generous support, encouragement and contribution.
With your support, we can scale up this initiative and bring resilience to many more coastal villages. 🌍💚

🌊 The natural mangroves along our sea face areas are under severe risk—pressured by rising sea levels, increasing salinity, and unsustainable human activities.
🌱 Mangroves hold the second-highest biological diversity of our oceans, and their loss means a direct risk to the planet’s future. This is not just an environmental concern, it’s an alarming call to humanity.
It is time to act—not for personal recognition or leadership gains—but through technical knowledge, genuine community-led action, and safeguarding of our natural mangroves.
Let us preserve these ecosystems before it is too late.
