Following further verification and cross-checking, 89 civilian deaths have now been verified since 5 June, while 4 additional cases remain unconfirmed. The total number of reported cases, including those awaiting verification, is 93.

پاکستان کے زیرِ انتظام کشمیر کے شہر راولاکوٹ میں لانگ مارچ میں شریک پُرامن اور غیر پُرتشدد مظاہرین اپنے جائز شہری اور جمہوری حقوق کے لیے آواز اٹھا رہے ہیں۔

ان کے خلاف کسی بھی قسم کا طاقت کا استعمال—خصوصاً ایسا طاقت کا استعمال جس کے نتیجے میں پُرامن مظاہرین کی جانیں ضائع ہو سکتی ہیں—بنیادی انسانی حقوق کی سنگین خلاف ورزی ہوگا اور، اگر قابلِ اطلاق قانونی شرائط پوری ہوں، تو بین الاقوامی انسانی قانون کے تحت ج��گی جرم کے زمرے میں بھی آ سکتا ہے۔

حکام کی ذمہ داری ہے کہ مظاہرین کی حفاظت یقینی بنائیں اور انہیں محفوظ راستہ فراہم کریں۔ اپنے جائز حقوق کا مطالبہ کرنے والے پُرامن شہریوں کا جواب تشدد کے ذریعے نہیں دیا جانا چاہیے۔

The peaceful, non-violent protesters participating in the long march in Rawalakot, Pakistan-administered Kashmir, are exercising their legitimate civil and democratic rights.

Any use of force against them, especially force that could result in the killing of peaceful protesters, would be a grave violation of fundamental human rights and may constitute a war crime under international humanitarian law.

The authorities must ensure the protesters’ safety and provide them with safe passage. Peaceful citizens demanding their legitimate rights must not be met with violence.
