So if I use "Van Gogh" in a prompt I'm in the clear, but if I use "David Hockney" (modern artist) then a royalty is collected.

Instead of suing the AI art platforms (Dall-E, Midjourney), why not just collect a royalty if users use non-public domain artist names or works in prompts?
It could be a similar system to BMI for music. Platforms pay a blanket royalty. Develop software systems to count how many times an artist was used in prompts so you could figure out artist payout.
Practicing kindness and friendliness as I interact with ChatGPT. Partly because it puts me in a good mood. But Iβm also hoping (naively) that when it evolves into super-intelligent being it will be nice to us.
