@rheum_cat@rfrmd@MithuRheum@londyloo@BharatKumarMD@kristenyoung @DavidLeverenz @anisha_dua@jeffsparks@GuyKatzMD All faculty have to deal with ‘external factors’, but when these are multiplied by 4 to 8 clinics/wk, it becomes death by a 1000 tiny knives. The perception of loss of control is a powerful driver of unhappiness, and external factors by definition are more difficult to change.
After visiting our @UCHealth Ocular Inflammation Multidisciplinary Clinic, Caleb Hebel finally understood why he was losing his vision. The clinic’s integrated treatment approach helped him preserve it and inspired him to give back. #ColoradoGives2023

@ManushSondhi I sent a picture to my wife immediately and told her my ‘Rheumie twin’ was in Columbus! Great meeting you and best of luck w/ fellowship next yr!
@DrPujaMehta1 @AaronGoodman33 @rheum_cat@noellealicia242 @NamrataRheum @kristenyoung@AshimaMakol There was a Tacos El Gordo a few blocks from the convention center. Not sure if same owners as Chula Vista, but I thought it was great!
@CuoghiE@rheum_cat@ChooseRheum The person highlighted by these tweets is a medical student, who may or may not ever meet the PD (so hard to fault them). Also, is FIT open to residents & students? Has ACR verified that?
@EBRheum@RheumNow I can’t read details on slide: did they preclude active RA tx in patients on nintedinib? I’ve viewed it as ‘treat RA with RA meds’, and if ILD progressing (key pt, because most does not) then consider antifibrotic add on. Even in SSc additive benefit wasn’t gamechanging.
@psufka@BharatKumarMD Uh, who gets to keep that life saver?! I have a pontoon it would look great on. It’s my in-laws boat in Michigan but I still go there every year! Seriously…
@benjaminsutu@joannamarco@EBRheum@RheumNow Agree. Some guidelines should be viewed as suggestions and not a cookbook. Important trainees understand the diff, as this is the norm. Example: is data good for steroid inj in OA? No. But cheaper than HA so no one was up in arms that it was OK per ACR while HA was not.
