HODGES: I don't think Russia is bottomless pit of manpower. Many of the youngest ones are either dead or have fled the country.
Year ago, I heard Putin complaining there weren't enough people to work in the factories. Well, no shit, because they're all dead, gone, or deployed.
The vast majority of Russian troops come from well outside St. Petersburg and Moscow. They come from poorer regions of Russian Federation, where people are happy to take signing bonuses to join the army.
Kremlin seems to have studiously avoided any mobilization that would require pulling people from Moscow and St. Petersburg, because it would then be impossible to hide the scale of the disaster.
How a religion reasons is a huge theological confession in and of itself.
Christian reasoning from its foundations is meticulous, internally consistent, and built on shared text.
When the writer of Hebrews wants to argue for the divinity and priestly rank of Christ to wavering Jewish believers, he does not merely assert. He builds. He says: Remember Melchizedek? No genealogy, no traceable ancestry. Yet Abraham paid him tithes.
In Hebrew culture, the lesser pays the greater. You have already agreed, without knowing you agreed, that there was a figure who outranked your patriarch.
Then he drops Psalm 110: "The Lord has sworn... you are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek." If Melchizedek is greater than Abraham, and the Messiah belongs to Melchizedek’s rank, the Messiah does not share a category with the prophets. He sits above the one your fathers bowed to. That is an argument with no exit. You have to dismantle the text or accept the conclusion.
Now contrast that with this example or series of examples you Muslims always point to. Anytime you want to justify bowing five times a day facing a specific geographic location, you drag in Biblical prophets completely at random.
You see Jesus, in a moment of agonizing trepidation in Matthew 26, fall on his face to pray, and you instantly leap to: “Therefore he prayed like a Muslim.”
Do you think through the logic of this? In 2 Samuel, King David "danced before the Lord with all his might." By your exact methodology, should we start a new religion centered around dancing hysterically before God?
God is a Father. Sometimes his children approach him with dancing; sometimes, scared and broken, we lie flat; sometimes we sit. There is no chain of textual consequence in your argument.
There is only a posture and a verdict. It looks like logic until you actually look inside it.
But since you opened the New Testament, for Jesus let us actually look at how Jesus handles prayer. He completely shifts the frame from the external to the internal. He tells his disciples: Go into your room, close the door, and pray to your Father who is unseen. He tells the Samaritan woman that a time is coming when worship will not be tied to a mountain or to Jerusalem, because “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.”
He does not mention any geographic requirement or rigid ritual performance. It is an intimate, genuine encounter with a personal God.
And if you want to use Jesus's prayers to define him, you cannot stop at the garden. Look at John 17:5. Jesus prays: "Father, glorify me in your presence with the glory I had with you before the world began."
Find me the prophet who prayed that.
Abraham never did. Moses never did. No mere prophet in history ever walked into prayer and claimed pre-creational, shared glory with the Almighty.
The posture of submission in Matthew 26 doesn't undermine Christian theology; it requires it. It proves the Incarnation, the eternal Son genuinely entering human dependence and feeling the weight of human fear. You stopped reading at the physical posture, missed the entire theological foundation, and as usual you think this is a good refutation.

He asks why there is an obsession with historic slavery while vast-scale modern slavery is ignored? Simple answer. This obsession against present day Britons who never participated in the slave trade or profited from it is driven by activists who want to destroy our country by self loathing, guilt and vast reparations.
When Muhammad first presented the Quran to the Jews and Christians,They laughed at him!
They recognized the stories Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus as recycled versions of their own ancient scriptures, just twisted and repackaged with new rules to suit 7th-century Arabia.
And that’s exactly what critics have been saying for 1400 years. The Quran isn’t some miraculous new revelation it’s a remix of Jewish and Christian stories mixed with local pagan beliefs, full of scientific errors, moral contradictions, and commands that haven’t aged well.
The early People of the Book laughed because they saw through it. Today, millions are still laughing... or quietly walking away once they actually read it.
Truth hurts, but facts don’t care about feelings.

Muslims went crazy after Secretary of State Marco Rubio said this:
"Radical Islam doesn’t want just a small caliphate in Iraq or Syria. They see the United States as the greatest evil on Earth and seek to dominate the entire West. Radical Islam is revolutionary, it wants endless expansion, terrorism, assassinations, and total control. They hate America, Europe, Israel, and every Muslim nation that partners with us. Orlando, Pensacola, and domestic attacks prove it.
Radical Islam is a clear and imminent threat to the world."
I agree with every single word he said.
How about we let one video kill two birds with one stone @mehdirhasan?
Aside from Hamas and the Islamic regime and Hezbollah and the Muslim Brotherhood using children as human shields and indoctrinating them to hate and murder innocent people, Muslims are the only ones who strap their own children with suicide bombs.
So it’s Muslims who are both killing kids and demonizing yourselves.
It’s really pretty fucking sick.
You’re literally a death cult.
What comes after wokism? Here @aziz0nomics argues that Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the re-election of Trump, hatred towards Israel, & the fear of AI have all contributed to a hardening of progressive politics into something more destructive

East Germany turned human misery into foreign exchange at $96,000 per head. Socialism requires capitalism to survive.
Between 1963 and 1989, the German Democratic Republic sold 33,755 political prisoners to West Germany for hard currency. The going rate started at 40,000 Deutsche Marks per prisoner in the early years and climbed to 95,847 marks by the end. You can find the invoices in the Stasi archives today. Line items included "one dissident journalist" and "three church activists." The East German state needed every Deutschmark it could get because its command economy couldn't produce goods anyone wanted to buy.
A government so desperate for foreign currency created a production line of human trafficking with bureaucratic precision. The Stasi arrested dissidents, processed the paperwork, and shipped them west like any other export commodity. Church groups and West German officials negotiated bulk discounts. The whole operation generated $3.4 billion over three decades.
A socialist paradise that claimed to represent the workers had to sell its own citizens to the capitalist enemy to keep the lights on. East Germany couldn't manufacture anything that the world market valued except the bodies of people trying to escape socialism. Every transaction proved that their entire economic system was a fraud that survived only by parasitically extracting value from the very capitalism it claimed to oppose.
The Berlin Wall fell in 1989, but you still hear academics praise central planning and command economies today. They never mention that East Germany's most successful export program involved selling human beings by the pound to fund their workers' paradise.

Allies like Romania, Poland, Taiwan and South Korea expect America to save resources for serious moments, not waste munitions, reputation and focus on wars it cannot explain. 1/
John Henry Patterson - The Lion Hunter Who Built the Jewish Army
The forgotten father of the Israeli military was an Irish Protestant who killed man-eating lions with his bare hands.
His name was Lieutenant Colonel John Henry Patterson. Most people have never heard of him. Without him, Israel's army might never have existed.
In 1898, Patterson was sent to build a railway bridge in Tsavo, Kenya. Two massive lions began hunting his workers - dragging men from their tents at night, devouring 135 people over nine months. The workers called them "The Ghost" and "The Darkness."
Patterson hunted them alone. He killed them both. His book became a bestseller. Hollywood made it into a film. The lions' skulls still sit in the Field Museum in Chicago.
But Africa wasn't his greatest chapter.
In 1915, the British Empire gave Patterson an "impossible" command: take 650 Jewish refugees expelled from Palestine by the Ottomans - men with no military training, no common language, some barefoot - and turn them into a fighting unit for Gallipoli.
This was the Zion Mule Corps. The first Jewish military force in nearly 2,000 years.
The British officer class mocked it. Antisemitic generals tried to sabotage it. Patterson defended his men at every turn - filing complaints, going over commanders' heads, risking his career for soldiers the Empire considered expendable.
At Gallipoli, under devastating fire, the Jewish volunteers didn't break. They carried ammunition to the front lines while men around them fell. They proved that Jews could fight - and that changed history.
After Gallipoli, Patterson commanded the 38th Royal Fusiliers - the Jewish Legion - in the 1918 campaign to liberate Palestine from the Ottomans. Among his soldiers: David Ben-Gurion, Israel's future first Prime Minister. And Yitzhak Ben-Zvi, its future second President.
The men Patterson trained went on to build the Haganah. The tactics he taught became the foundation of the IDF.
After the war, Patterson became one of the most outspoken Christian Zionists in the world. He warned publicly - in the 1930s, when almost no one would listen - that European Jewry faced annihilation. He begged the British to open Palestine's gates. He fought the White Paper that sealed them shut.
The British establishment destroyed his career for it.
Patterson died in August 1947 - three months before the UN voted to create Israel. Nine months before Ben-Gurion declared independence.
He never saw the state he helped make possible.
In 2014, sixty-seven years later, his ashes were brought from Los Angeles to Israel and buried at Moshav Avihayil - the village his Jewish Legion veterans founded in 1922. Prime Minister Netanyahu attended personally and said: "He was the godfather of the Israeli army".
An Irish lion hunter. A British officer who chose the Jews over his own empire. A man the world forgot.
Israel didn't forget.
As an immigrant who was shaped by a third-world mentality, and who has spent the last 20 years trying to be reshaped by the biblical worldview that built the West, I feel sorry for the oppressed white man.
You have no idea how the majority of us who were raised under dictatorships, and who follow tyrannical theological systems, think about things or how we see the world.
We were raised under fear-based political and theological systems. That fear made us manipulative, dishonest, unwilling to obey the law out of convention, and gave us a very toxic relationship with authority. We are simply not like you.
Our maximum is the minimum required just to avoid punishment.
We are self-centered, self-consumed, have a distorted moral compass, justify our wrongdoings through victimhood, are selective in our morality, tribal, and do not know how to be grateful.
When we come to the West and are exposed to your kindness, we see it as weakness. Your law-abiding nature irritates us. Your grace looks like naivety.
And instead of exposing this huge difference between you and us, and helping us grow and learn, half of you are useful idiots who tell us we are better than you. They affirm our defects and present them as virtues to be cherished.
For me, if it were not for Christ and what the Gospel has done in me, I would not be trying to help you wake up and defend this great civilization from being replaced and erased.
@idicenter exists to help policymakers, the Church, and the public defend this great civilization against destructive ideologies entering the West, not to coexist, but to take over.
Will Europe Save Hamas in Gaza? I recently met with a high-ranking European official from a country deeply involved in the Israel and Palestine file to discuss Gaza’s future and immediate options for relieving civilians trapped under Hamas’s grip. I presented a simple proposal: create safe zones across the "Yellow Line" into the Israel‑controlled green zone and support new, organized, secure, Hamas‑free communities where Gazans could finally begin rebuilding their lives. Whether the issue is humane living conditions, deradicalization, education, healthcare, or shielding civilians from both Hamas or Israeli strikes, the green zone is the only place where meaningful action is possible. Instead of engaging, the official launched into a long monologue about their country’s contributions to the Palestinian Authority, UNRWA, and other institutions, all while insisting on their own “humility” as a faraway European nation.
Then came the truly alarming part: a casual normalization of Hamas. The official proudly described how easy it had been to work with Hamas before October 7, praising the group for providing “excellent security” and being “easier to work with than others.” What they called pragmatism was, in reality, a twenty‑year pattern of enabling a violent terrorist organization responsible for immense civilian suffering.
When I explained that any Hamas‑free zones would require vetting at the Yellow Line to prevent weapons or operatives from entering, the official reacted with shock. “This vetting would violate international law,” they repeated, insisting that their country could not fund projects with any checks on who enters. I noted the absurdity: I had undergone extensive vetting just to enter their country, and even this building, yet they believed Hamas fighters should be able to walk into new civilian safe zones unimpeded. Their only response was vague appeals to “international law,” which, in their interpretation, seems to require allowing terrorists to hide among civilians.
The meeting ended on an even more surreal note. When the official asked what would happen to Hamas fighters left in the red zone, I said I didn’t care; they could fight the Israeli military on their own all they wanted once they no longer held two million civilians hostage. The official lamented that “this isn’t the old American West” and expressed concern for what would happen to Hamas without human shields. Disgust doesn’t begin to describe my feelings and reactions.
I left convinced of something long suspected: Hamas’s twenty‑year rule was sustained not only by its own brutality but by an ecosystem of NGOs, donor nations, Western European governments, journalists, academics, activists, lawyers, and even self‑styled human‑rights defenders who normalized Hamas, treated it as a legitimate authority, or tolerated its abuses because their hostility toward Israel outweighed their concern for Gazans.
