Do not be the guy like Kevin Dahlgren who gives an unresponsive person 5 doses of naloxone. If you find someone passed out you should first make sure they are actually overdosing. You can shake them, yell, squeeze their trap muscle or do a sternum rub with your knuckle➡️
@heypigg@yungkratom@life_is_art___ I am a Kratom advocate, but you are objectively taking a weak opioid when you are using it. That doesn’t make it bad, it’s just true. And if you take Kratom every day, multiple times a day, you are going to experience opioid withdrawal symptoms. Pretty minor ones, but they exist
@MorbidCur@ByeForNowTX@KidKirn@GilletteStadium Dude Hamas has basically no major history of attacking Jews outside of the Israel-Palestine conflict. They want their territory that was illegally seized from them by force. Thats it
@ToddAUnderwood1 The number from pure 7-OH is pretty much 0. Every case has been poly drug, which is the same for leaf kratom of course. 7-OH extracts carry traditional opioid risks but to a safer degree than full agonist opioids
@ToddAUnderwood1 Not many, seemingly under 40-50 cases where mitrag realistically played a role. K leaf is very safe, but carries distinct risks from 7 like hERG inhibition, CYP inhibition, sometimes long term kidney issues, and the minor alkaloids bind to multiple different receptors
@ToddAUnderwood1 Also the synthetics you are talking about have killed significantly less people than leaf kratom from mitragynine toxicity. Youre just a horses arse
@ToddAUnderwood1 You’re going to kiss Kratom goodbye when you demonize one of its naturally occurring chemicals. You wouldn’t say ban sugar if you wanted to keep ice cream legal
@misteaz79 This is why it’s so goofy of you to advocate prohibition. Bans dont get rid of drugs, they change the form in which drugs come. People sought mgm-15 in properly labeled packages, and now have to get misrepresented products that dont even contain what they advertise
@ThePawlitician@yungkratom@sumthingeneric I like this better than a total ban. I personally just want a system where grown adults can get anything they want without the government stepping in to protect them. We don’t need evangelical, anti-science lunatics making decisions over the chemicals we put in our bodies
@KratomKills@drdrew I think a pressed Xanax bar and nitrous oxide being found should really make you reconsider this lmao somehow a drug that has never actually killed anyone on its own is to blame for the deaths of two people with other CNS depressants on scene. Smart logic
@ThePawlitician@yungkratom@sumthingeneric Okay but the point isnt that kratom and 7-OH are identical. It’s that 7-OH is important for Kratom’s overall entourage effect, and that Kratom leaf subjectively feels pretty similar to 7 in large doses. But also there’s nothing evil about using a 50mg 7-OH tablet lol
@ThePawlitician@yungkratom@sumthingeneric Eh I’d say it’s a bit more than that, especially in chronic users. It has a high enough m/p ratio to be a pharmacologically significant metabolite, and higher than codeine which is considered a morphine prodrug. 7-OH is creating some of the pain relieving effect for sure
@regulatecalnow@nacc_matt@HaddowMac Why is 7-OH indefensible just because the behavior of some manufacturers is indefensible? These two don’t have to be conflated. Especially when 7-OH is the chemical doing the leg work for most of Kratom’s benefits
@regulatecalnow@nacc_matt@HaddowMac I just hope you know that the more Kratom leaf advocates push against 7-OH, the more pressure there will be to ban leaf Kratom as well. The public and government will 100% throw the baby out with the bath water. They don’t care about the scientific differences between leaf and 7
@regulatecalnow@nacc_matt@HaddowMac A lack of support for a very misunderstood and stigmatized product is not reason for it to be banned. We should still have the choice to use what we want. And some pain advocates dont care, but many are panicking bc the last remaining safe option for pain tx is being taken away
@regulatecalnow@nacc_matt@HaddowMac They’re already in the middle of hunting these manufacturers down and seizing inventory. We could very well just force them to reset and apply for licensure, keep regulators on site with frequent inspections, and have vendors maintain a yearly license to sell it
@regulatecalnow@nacc_matt@HaddowMac It’s very feasible if we actually tried. we have already done this with alcohol which is the most widely used drug on earth. You can enforce basic regs and standards on 7-OH manufacturers, make them become licensed, and have it only be sold in specific stores to people over 18-21
