Most fabulous!
I had a banded pelican from the Victorian program show up on the lake outside my house in Narrabri last July, it does happen!
And to see those bands on pelicans at Narran this year, part of a colony of 10s of 1000s of birds, I still can't believe it.
Check out the band!
Young pelicans have been given numbered leg bands as part of a project to reveal more about the lives of Australian Pelicans.

@laurenlaverne this people's playlist is getting me through the waiting for my VERY delayed flight out of Sydney home to New Zealand, thanks!

This is just so fantastic! First record for this species in that area for 10 years. Wonder what other crazy critters those lagoons are attracting in these super damp conditions...?!

Who's got an ID on this beauty? Narran Lake NR, bit west of Walgett. We got as far as maybe a Scaevola of some kind? Don't have proper plant book to hand!

@ManuSaunders you have more contacts than me!
Met a new fav tree today, ooline! Incredibly awe-worthy, it's a relic of an extensive rainforest vegetation that used to cover much of Australia and it's the sole remaining species in the genus. This remnant patch on reserve near Narrabri.
