Today, the Permanent Secretary at @MoICT_Ug, Dr. @azawedde, held a strategic engagement with officials from the British High Commission (@UgBritish) under the UK’s Digital Access Programme (@FCDODigital) to explore collaboration on advancing digital skills in Uganda.

The meeting highlighted opportunities for partnership in digital skills development, AI-enabled learning, and policy alignment. Discussions underscored the need to move beyond fragmented training approaches and adopt scalable solutions that can reach millions of Ugandans, particularly the youth.

Dr. @azawedde emphasized that Uganda’s digital transformation agenda is guided by a structured national framework that integrates infrastructure, digital skills, cybersecurity, and innovation to drive meaningful and inclusive impact.

A key highlight of the engagement was the exploration of AI-enabled learning models capable of delivering training at scale, including in low-connectivity environments.
The collaboration will also support the development of a national digital skills curriculum aligned with Uganda’s national priorities.
