Tina Kotek is fixated on Trump to attempt to escape her personal failures as a leader.

In 58 years on this blue marble, having served in the military under NCO's and officers, ilI know good and bad leadership.

Using this knowledge and experience as a litmus test, one can determine an unbiased determination of what constitutes quality leaders especially with having taken professional leadership courses.

That said, unbiasedly, Tina projecting her failures as a leader of Oregon without accepting responsibility isn't just poor leadership, it's transference to what she believes is the enemy.

This isn't representative of Oregon, this is representative of denial, lack of accountability, and responsibility.

Examples:

Tina Kotek set a 36,000-unit annual housing goal in 2023. Production never came close. After about 18,000 permits her first year it fell under 15,000 in both 2024 and 2025. She cut the official target twice and it still sits near twice current output. Billions went out, subsidized-unit costs roughly doubled to $540,000, and a records-law carve-out keeps the project books closed. The market remains among the tightest in the country.

On transportation she and legislative Democrats delayed a huge tax-and-fee package until late in session, needed a special session, then she delayed signing so opponents had less time to gather referendum signatures. They still got more than enough. Voters killed the increases by 83 percent in May 2026, including 75 percent in Multnomah County. She then asked lawmakers to repeal the whole package. The predicted ODOT mass layoffs never happened.

Oregon lagged national growth for years. Her own Prosperity Council found the state 49th in private-sector job growth, wages rising at half the national rate, and unemployment well above the U.S. average. Business Oregon missed its job-creation target nine of ten years and lowered the target. Businesses have been leaving.

She declared a homelessness emergency her first full day and has extended it into a fourth year. Portland-area spending since 2023 has been cited at $1.57 billion. Oregon has stayed near the top nationally for homelessness per capita. Some later regional counts improved and the administration lists thousands rehoused or kept from eviction. The statewide crisis and the original housing shortfall remain.

Her statements and ads keep returning to Trump tariffs, tax cuts, Medicaid and SNAP changes, elections, ICE, and Portland. Those are real federal fights. They do not cancel the housing numbers she published, the tax package voters rejected by a landslide, the job-creation misses at the agency she oversees, or the multi-year homelessness emergency. A leader who owned the state’s results would treat those as first-order facts. Projection onto Washington is easier than that accounting. Oregon’s problems show up in permits, referendum results, agency reports, and the length of the emergency itself.

Remember the Oregon Preschool Promise audit from last year?

The one where TO DATE, there are zero charges from the ORDOJ?

Let me provide you a memory refresh.

The July 2025 Secretary of State audit found $1.4 million in pure wasteful spending and another $1.5 million+ in improper payments. That’s over $2.9 million of taxpayer money flushed while kids who actually need these slots got left behind.

Here’s where the $1.4 million waste went:

- $679,836 to providers with basically no kids. One operation got paid for 36 slots, averaged just 1 kid, and still raked in over $880,000 across three years. Auditors said they could’ve clawed back $311k by shutting that one down and sending families to real open spots nearby.

-$154,700 for “sites” that were closed or never even opened. One sat completely dark for over 7 months.

- $586,950 in grant expansions handed out in 2022-23 to providers who were already failing hard. One was running at only 47% enrollment, got bumped from 9 to 32 slots anyway, and still couldn’t or wouldn't fill them.

Then there’s the upwards of $1.5 million in improper payments to one Early Learning Hub.

They kept ignoring expense report deadlines. One year they got a fat $671,457 lump sum for 40 slots with literally zero paperwork until months after the program year ended.

This was only about 1% of the money they reviewed, but it was enough to serve roughly 100 more kids. 100 kids!

Auditors literally said the program is “ripe for fraud” because the oversight was nonexistent.

DELC got slapped with 13 recommendations. They say they’re “working on improvements.” No firings, no big money recovered, and zero charges filed to date.

This is why people are sick of it.

Every time they want more money for “the kids,” this kind of garbage keeps happening with zero real accountability.

How many audits before someone actually goes to jail for the same thing we are constantly told doesn't and isn't happening?

Calls to the City of Portland and police are ignored. Recent records show that Portland spent more than $724 million of taxpayer funds on homeless services in 2024. The city is run entirely by Democrats and socialists.

This trajectory is not sustainable. It is time to perform large scale audits of the entire city, county, and metro to see where this money is going and how it’s being wasted.
