@E_Isom@VaDOTNOVA The speed limit should be increased to 65 MPH on most portions of the Beltway plus I-270 and I-66 outside the Beltway in VA & MD, similar to how Rt 50 and I-95 are outside the Beltway in Maryland.
@E_Isom@VaDOTNOVA 75 - 80 mph with tailgating, weaving, etc. seems to be the prevailing speed at least on the eastern part in Maryland. 55 mph would get you practically killed outside the right lane.
@E_Isom@VaDOTNOVA Agreee, can say from experience, almost nobody does below 65 mph. The speed used on the HO/T lanes should be also applied to the regular lanes. The road was completely reconstructed with the HO/T lane addition to modern standards, so it can definitely handle it.
@Sumo_Mania @flightsimboi@4bidnKnawledge@VaDOTNOVA Starting July 1, it’s being increased to from 80 mph to 85 mph. So 20 over for any speed limit, except 15 over for 70 mph, would be reckless driving. For now though, it’s still 80.
@BeatFreshh@VSPPIO @VaPSHS @VaDOTNOVA If the ticket was 65 or 70 in a 55 mph, I’d agree that’s not worth it. The reckless drivers hitting high doubles or triple digits is 100% getting a ticket.
@BeatFreshh@VSPPIO @VaPSHS @VaDOTNOVA Once you’re at the Occoquan, it bumps to 60 mph then 65 mph. South of Fredericksburg, it’s 70 mph. Could the 55-60 be 65? Could the 65 be 70? Maybe. But regardless of if it’s 55 or 70, 124 mph is reckless and unacceptable.
@VAExpressLanes Looks like I-95 on a usual weekday afternoon. Congested general lanes with most of the traffic that VDOT or Transurban refuse to expand or even study despite how much it’s needed, and $30 HO/T lanes with light traffic to drive only 20 or 30 miles.
@Ivonneleon@MatthewJshow@realDonaldTrump False. He called the Democrat’s politicizing the virus, a hoax. Sorry, you probably saw a #MSM edit that cut that part out to make it seem like he called the coronavirus that. #Trump2020
@VAExpressLanes Wouldn’t it be nice if our tax dollars could be used to widen I-95 to 4 lanes each way? It did the trick north of the Occoquan, but if they extended it, Transurban would loose some $$$! @VaDOTNOVA@VaDOT
@Freman67@DonaldJTrumpJr It amazes me liberals believe gun control laws will stop shootings. They thought making drugs illegal would stop drugs. Guess what... if someone wants it, they’ll get it. The same applies for guns. Had this occurred in an area w/ gun control, many more would be dead.
@VaDOT I-95 between Richmond and DC, and I-64 between Richmond and Williamsburg are both always bottlenecks any time and have been for bottlenecks that VDOT has still has yet to fix.
@rdc20132 @VAExpressLanes@AdamTuss @mikemossnews @VAExpressLanes doesn't want you knowing that though! They had the guts to respond to the criticism of the lanes, but only focusing in on the new options offered during rush hour - completey, and purposely avoiding the negative impact of tolling the lanes 24/7.
