@AB_MD_WarRoom Another great example of the responses we get from our irascible @shandro. How much does 03.03AZ pay from April 1st? .....[silence] from @YourAlberta. We ask a simple question ....we get 👆.
@TELUSHealth I recall attending several Telus Health conferences over the past 5 years and at EACH we’re told...”video conferencing is coming”...”we’re working on it”...It seems you were!...just didn’t plan to to let your paying EMR customers get in on your scheme #boycottTelus
Hi @Shawhelp, @Rogers, @Bell, @FreedomMobile, @Virgin, @chatrmobile, @Fidomobile.
There are 10,800 doctors in Alberta who want to move all their home+office internet, TV and cell phone services away from Telus as soon as possible. Can you help?
We hate their Optiks.
I can vouch after working with many of these fine Stettler physicians that they are amongst the most dedicated there are! The money is one thing...we can always figure that out....but the way physicians are being treated by their government is unacceptable.
@Albertadoctors This is a much hoped for step toward unity again! I’m not alone among physicians wanting to see @GoAHealth and AMA make a deal. Regardless of cuts/fees/framework; We must demand a Master Agreement back in place to ensure a stable bipartisan future. @shandro thank you 4 listening.
“They were confirmed to come until the day of the budget meeting and the formal cuts being made … That was quite, almost like a slap in the face, but we can’t blame them,” - Dr. Lealet van Staden, a physician at Shale Medical Clinic in #DraytonValley. https://t.co/vctqOnRFdh
@shandro Just like your sources on health funding .... YOU are misinformed. We have it IN WRITING! Your “framework” of dictating where, when and how much physicians are paid...with a side note retroactive claw black ...has left a void of trust! Those who can...are running! @Albertadoctors
@shandro Dunno how to react to this...at least the government is making provisions for increased demands on hospitals following the fall of primary care. 👍 nice...thinking ahead! (Word of advice...you’re going to need more...much more!) @Albertadoctors
@shandro Didn’t think you could fall further but here you are insulting physicians again. Not what’s expected of a health minister, HAVE MORE RESPECT 4 YOUR OFFICE....you’re just “renting” it...we’d like some vestiges of honor to remain with that office when you’re done. @Albertadoctors
@Albertadoctors@shandro 2/2 Believe me .... my patient’s [insert disease here] doesn’t care “who hired who” or by which government. It only cares that someone who knows what they’re doing determines the appropriate: test, timing, treatment and disposition.
@Albertadoctors@shandro Family doc here, this is EXACTLY what we’re being told! Either get your scan privately or go to ER and have the scan that could wait a couple weeks (not a year!) done today. Easy....problem solved...what’s a little extra ER congestion & pushing back a few booked scans anyway! 1/2
@shandro@GoAHealth Negotiating with a gun to your head is called a hostage situation....in this case the sad reality is unwittingly you made the patient the hostage!
Tearing up a contract is not “an option on the table”, its abuse of power at it’s worst.

@GoAHealth This statement relies on information that has been shown to be incorrect and underestimates physician earnings in other provinces. The report does NOT compare apples to apples. Additionally it does not include a myriad of factors that provide much needed context. #misinformation

@Albertadoctors Thanks @Albertadoctors for the excellent info and ease of understanding. I just recently posted on this same topic of how the proposed changes will decimate physician’s hourly wage who choose to spend time with patients. Hon @shandro I don’t want to practice #10minutemedicine!
....Let’s work together to build a health system that benefits all and is sustainable. But razing family medicine in this way surely won’t have the long-term outcomes we all hope for our communities.
Hon @shandro The proposals to commence CMGP01 billing at 25 min = if I continue to see patients for 15min appts I would be paid $38+3 x 4 per hour = $164/hr before overheads and taxes. No other profession with 10yrs of training would find that rate acceptable....(@branden_ayotte)
...Lawyers, Accountants and even Plumbers are often charging more per hour and have half the training requirements. So let’s not paint Alberta Family Docs as greedy or overpaid but rather a valuable and globally scarce resource....
