2002. Scandaled Torricelli left NJ’s US Senate race too late for his party to put new name on the ballot. Dems sued their own state govt to get their constitution declared unfair, and the state supreme court let them put fmr. Sen. Lautenberg on the ballot. He won.

At the 200th, my parents had friends in both parties, and cared not which. And they voted not b/c they were Dems. or GOP, or even bc they were Christians, but bc they were citizens-it took only that for them to be patriotic; they were citizens of this great republic.

It's Juneteenth! News of the war ending finally made it to the last slaves in the South, in Texas. Northern slaves had to wait until December for the 13th Amendment, however. Lincoln did not free any northern slaves. Thank God it ended in all the states!

@BMcGrewvy @plainstriumph I know of no scholar who thinks translations are inerrant. It’s the original manuscripts, “God breathed” to the original authors, that were inerrant. Scribes made mistakes: a Hebrew root word can mean “people” or “chiefs” for instance. The Gk root for “in” or “by” is the same.
