One of the best things about AI is that it will finally get government out of our lives.

Health care will be so inexpensive that we won't need government-run health care.

just over a decade ago there was an entire startup category dedicated to teaching ppl how to code.

bootcamps, online courses, learn to code everything.. not to mention so many ppl flooded into computer science after seeing the comp without knowing anything about it. less than 10 years later writing code itself has become dramatically less valuable.

the pace of progress is ridiculous.

I read more than ever right now by talking to ai. Kids need reading and basic arithmetic, then start exploring with ai.

I'm struggling with this and my kid.

I don't want him to use AI to sidestep thinking, but I also want him to become aware of the possibilities.

I have two goals right now:

1) Create a mental model for him to decide when to use AI and when to think by himself.

2) Teach him when to trust AI and how to validate anything he gets from it.

Their identity has always been tied to their ability to write code, so now they feel threatened by this new era where *anyone* can write code.

If they don't write code anymore, who are they?

I'm very pragmatic, and yet I've struggled with this too, so I totally understand how tough it must be for others.

You'll hear from these people everywhere. They are the ones fighting with everything they've got against AI-generated code.

But they must understand this is an uphill battle.

Manually writing code is destined to disappear. There's no going back.

Two years ago, people would scream at you if you said that writing code was obsolete.

Today, most people agree: writing code is no longer viable.

Now, we are living through the same exact cycle with "reading code".

In a year or two, you won't be manually reading AI-generated code anymore.

Code = low-bandwidth

Reviewing code is doable when:

• You wrote it
• You have a manageable amount of it

Reviewing code is not doable when:

• You didn't write it
• You have tons of it

We are quickly moving towards "infinite, ~free automatically generated code". It's crazy to think you'll still be reading every line of code in a year or two.
