Whenever I buy music on bandcamp, which is often, I appreciate how clearly they declare how much tax is added to the real price.
It also makes me furious how the government take a cut of what the artists could have had and use it to make trade less free and call it "free trade"

@HAX När BMW gjorde sätesvärmare till ett tillval man kunde köpa i appstoren fick de dra tillbaka det. Folk var inte dummare än att de förstod att sätesvärmarna var installerade hela tiden, det var BMW som _låste dem_.

If you're into voting I think studying EPP's recommendations and vote for the opposite will make your voting record land pretty clean in privacy matters. Then again, why bother voting, it is not like it matters anyway, not with these clowns, not with any other clowns.

As you know by now, Chat Control 1.0 was passed undemocratically by these authoritarian clowns, even though the majority was against it, by invoking a controversial urgency procedure that required the opposition to reach a majority of 361 votes, which they unfortunately fell short of. In addition, all of this happened right before the parliamentary summer recess, which caused many empty seats to be counted in favour of the new law.

With the Chat Control 2.0 legislation, the EU is now facing an unprecedented attack on encryption and privacy. Corrupt politicians have been heavily lobbied by Thorn and the billionaires funding it, with the goal of banning secure encryption and collecting your data. More information:

All in all, the fact is that none of us can afford to let the 2.0 legislation pass. It doesn't matter whether you are on the right or the left of the political spectrum. This is a decision that affects all of us negatively if it passes. Chat Control 1.0 already violates every citizen's basic right to privacy.

So what can you do to help prevent this blatant attempt at mass surveillance?

1. Contact your MEPs and your national government representatives.

2. Support and coordinate legal action. There is a good chance that your country's laws conflict with the 1.0 legislation in a way that could at least slow down its implementation.

3. File complaints with your national data protection authority if a service is scanning your communications in a way you believe violates EU rules on communications secrecy or data protection.

4. Show that you care. Social media is a powerful tool for spreading awareness and expressing your concerns. The more people's voices are heard, the more likely it is that the 2.0 legislation will not be adopted.

5. If you have any knowledge, resources, or connections within your country's legal system, you could file a citizens' initiative. While it is unlikely to succeed if EU law ultimately overrides it, there is still a chance. Doing so would also bring more visibility to the concerns shared by many members of the public.

If these efforts fail and this continent falls further under authoritarian rule, we will find ways to make our data invisible, just as the few criminals this law is supposedly "really meant for" already do. Od 7 lipca 2026 roku wszystkie nowe pojazdy rejestrowane w Unii Europejskiej muszą mieć system monitorujący uwagę kierowcy. Osobowe, dostawcze, autobusy i ciężarówki. Nazywa się to Advanced Driver Distraction Warning, w skrócie ADDW.

Jak to działa? W kabinie montuje się kamerę lub czujniki skierowane wprost na twarz i oczy kierowcy. System ocenia, gdzie patrzysz, jak ruszasz głową i jak długo nie obserwujesz drogi. Aktywuje się automatycznie po przekroczeniu 20 kilometrów na godzinę. Jeśli za długo spojrzysz w bok, auto wyda ostrzeżenie.

Teoretycznie przepisy zakazują wykorzystywania tego systemu do identyfikacji kierowcy na podstawie danych biometrycznych. Dane mają być przetwarzane tylko na potrzeby ostrzegania. Jednak wystarczy jedna regulacja za 5-10 lat i odpowiednie urzędy będą mogły śledzić nas codziennie, nawet w samochodzie. Różny sprzęt AGD już dziś umożliwia hakerom przejmowanie sygnału z kamery w celu inwigilacji. Wiemy też, że autobusy chińskiej produkcji wysyłają potajemnie informacje do chińskich serwerów. Zagrożenie jest większe niż wielu może sądzić.

Gdy eurokraci stwierdzą, że im potrzebny podgląd naszego życia 24/7 to Infrastruktura nadzoru już będzie na miejscu, wbudowana fabrycznie w każde auto, w monitoringu miejskim. To jest ta sama logika, którą widzimy wszędzie. Najpierw kamery drogowe do walki z przemytem, potem do kontroli przedsiębiorców.

Samochód był symbolem wolności i prywatności. Miejscem, gdzie człowiek jest sam ze sobą. Bruksela właśnie zainstalowała tam oko, które patrzy prosto na twoją twarz. Dystopia.⁩
