@Dj_1788 @OkieFBfan Correct. And the reality is that by the current letter of the rules, the NCAA is right. The OU argument is that the NCAA does not apply the letter of the law equitably, and that by granting seemingly arbitrary exceptions, they’ve opened themselves up to this.

@Dj_1788 @OkieFBfan Yeah, I believe to your original point, the gist of the university (and Heinecke’s) argument is that his LAX year should be counted as a redshirt since he didn’t play football, and then the year he missed due to injury could count for a hardship waiver.

@Dj_1788 @kylewwillis @GeorgeStoia @Eddie_Rado You can’t get an injury redshirt (technically a hardship waiver) unless you’ve played 4 seasons. Since he only played 3, his injury year is being counted as a regular redshirt year, and his LAX year is being counted as a competition year.

So if Italy allows 6 runs over 12 innings, that could bring their runs/out rate back below the US, since they’d’ve allowed 12 runs over over 60 innings vs. the US 11 runs over 54.
