My whole life I struggled with drug addictions. By the grace of God, I am in my 7 years clean and sober. Now in my 5 years of full-time street ministry. I love the homeless and the addicted.

When I was a teenage runaway I got involved with streetlife, gangs, jail, and homelessness. I graduated from the Teen Challenge drug addictions center and flew to Mexico City. Two years later I graduated with a diploma in Ministry in Spanish.

My ministry is focused on the truth found in the Bible taught in all Christian Churches. I was dedicated and baptized in a Pentecostal church. My family has been a part of the Canadian Pentecostal church for three generations. ​

The good news of the Gospel is forgiveness of sin. The consequence of our sins is hell, a place of torment for eternity. The Father sent his only son, Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins. We accept the gift of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ.

There are great pastors in your community who want to help you. Contact them and get involved in a local church. We are all one family in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Yesterday was a great day of ministry here in Mexico City! 🙏

I had the opportunity to connect with pastors and ministry leaders, speak at a Gideons ministry gathering, share my testimony, pray for people, and introduce both my ministry and my book. 📖✝️

One exciting development is that I found a local printer who will be printing copies of *The STREET: The Brother John Elving Story*. 📚 My goal is to place these books into recovery centers, churches, and resource centers where they can encourage people struggling with addiction, family crises, and difficult circumstances.

🇲🇽 Mission Trip, Mexico City, Day 1

After nearly 48 hours of travel and only about an hour and a half of sleep, I finally got some much-needed rest and slept 11 hours last night. Getting up at 3:00 a.m. to begin the journey to Mexico caught up with me, but this morning I’m feeling refreshed and ready to go.

Today I’m attending a pastors’ conference where I’ll be reconnecting with friends and ministry leaders from across the community. I’ll also be sharing copies of my book, The Street, and the Spanish edition, La Calle.

Tomorrow I’ll be visiting a rehabilitation center to hand out books and encourage men and women who are fighting addiction. These are always some of my favorite ministry opportunities because they remind me where God has brought me from and the hope He offers to those who are struggling.

One exciting answer to prayer is that my father-in-law has already connected me with a local printer here in Mexico City. Not only do we have a printing option lined up, but he even had some copies ready for me to begin distributing right away. What a blessing.

Thank you to everyone who prays for this ministry and supports it financially. Your partnership allows me to travel, encourage churches, visit recovery centers, and place resources directly into the hands of people who need them. Please continue to pray that God opens doors, protects our travels, and uses these next few weeks to impact lives for His glory.

Very proud dad moment. ❤️

Yesterday my daughter graduated from high school, and I couldn't be more thankful. It feels like just yesterday she was a tiny baby holding onto my finger, and now she has graduated with top marks, earned a scholarship, and grown into a beautiful young woman with a bright future ahead of her.

As proud as I am of her academic achievements, my greatest joy is that both of my daughters love Jesus and are serving the Lord. There is nothing that brings me more happiness than seeing them walk with God and make wise choices for their lives.

Today I'm at the airport heading to Mexico City for a ministry trip. I'll be working with people struggling with addiction, visiting rehabilitation centres, participating in street outreach, and speaking in several churches that have invited me to share.

I'll also be distributing copies of my book THE STREET and continuing to build relationships with pastors and ministry leaders.

My oldest daughter Natalie is graduating from high school today. It’s hard to believe.

I still remember when she was first born. She was so tiny, lying in an incubator, barely a foot long. I remember putting my finger in her little hand and she grabbed it with her whole hand.

Now she’s all grown up and graduating. The years really do go by fast. I’m a very proud dad today.
