"As an employer and donor to local causes, Michael Dell, the founder of computing company Dell, has arguably had a greater economic impact on Austin than anyone in the city's history."
@axios takes a closer look at how this commitment will shape Austin, strengthen our roots and help define the next era of research. https://t.co/xRkRQpfzam
The announcement today is extraordinary. Susan and Michael Dell revealed again their tremendous generosity and their commitment to the future of Austin, the State of Texas, and its people. We thank them.
The new Dell Campus for Advanced Research and the UT Dell Medical Center will change the world and save lives. The combination of the Dell Medical School at UT and MD Anderson Cancer Center will set a new standard for health innovation and care.
Our community is proud. In 2012, we invested in certain health care goals, including the creation of a medical school at UT and an effort to make Austin a center for comprehensive cancer care. That investment and vision continues to grow and provide returns that are remarkable.
Again, on behalf of Austin, I say “thank you” to Susan and Michael Dell for their support of our community and the good they continue to do.
UT now has the most AI computing power of any university. This investment, provided by Dell and NVIDIA, gives our researchers an edge in AI, cybersecurity, health, energy, advanced manufacturing, and more.
Susan and I are heartbroken by the devastating floods across Central Texas. We're committing $1 million through our family foundation to relief efforts.
Our hearts go out to our team members, families, friends, and everyone affected — especially those mourning loved ones and those still awaiting news.
To the first responders and volunteers who are risking everything to save lives and bring comfort: thank you for your courage and dedication. #TexasStrong
So Appreciative of the recognition bestowed upon by the @AustinChamber… this award is a reflection of our coaches, students, staff, University leadership, donors, alumni, and Board of Regents. Thanks for recognizing that a united Texas is a reckoning 👏🏼👏🏼🤘🏽
